Unexpected Surprises

I'm going to be 8 moths pregnant next week and every week I get more anxious about meeting my new baby girl. As for Josie and Derek they're so excited about meeting their baby boy and I couldn't be happier for them. Derek and Chris have been acting wired lately and every time I try to ask them what's wrong they ignore me. I need to find out. I asked Josie if she knew something but she said she didn't know either. I believed her though because if it were something big she would of told me by now.

"Hey we're going out to dinner so get ready" Derek said to me and Josie

I didn't really feel like going out. I got really tired and my feet are really swollen. My back hurts all the time and I feel like I'm about to explode.

"Who's watching Savannah tonight?" I asked Chris

"The nanny" he replied

"Ok but I'm gonna need a hot shower if I'm going out tonight" I said waddling upstairs.

I took a nice warm bath and then looked through my closet for an outfit. I heard my door being knocked as I picked out a dress.

"Hey Alison do you have a dress I can borrow?" Josie asked "I know I bought some not too long ago but they won't zip up"

"Yea sure" I replied "Why don't you wear this one."

I gave her a short white lace sundress that showed off her cute 5 month bump.

"Thanks your the best" she thanked me

I smiled.

We got to this beautiful but expensive restaurant and gave the car to valet. Derek told the lady at the front desk that he had reservations. She quickly guided us to a private room with a table for four.

"So what's the occasion?" I asked the boys

"Does there have to be an occasion?" replied Derek

"I would think so considering every time we go out there's something" I reply

Chris and Derek looked at each other nervously and then nodded to each other. I ignored them and looked at my menu.

"Babe is there something you're not telling us?" Josie asked Derek

"Welll...ummm..." Derek started nervously,  "Chris and I have to fly to Germany for a business meeting and we won't be back for two maybe three weeks if the deal doesn't close"

I dropped my menu and looked up at both of them. Josie was in shock as well.

"No! You can't leave. I'm gonna be eight months pregnant next week which means the baby could be here any time by now and you're leaving?!" I yelled at both of them and felt my cheeks burn with anger and tears fall out of my eyes. I got up and went to the bathroom. Josie followed behind me. I went into the bathroom and just cried my eyes out. He can't leave me again.  Savannah and I need Chris.  Josie needs Derek as well. What if something went wrong?

Josie came in with tears in her eyes too. I know she was sad but we couldn't do anything about it.

"Hey" I whispered to her. She gave me a weak smile then started crying again so I hugged her.

"I need him" she cried

"I need Chris more than ever now too but we can do it" I tried calming her down.

We cooled off a little bit and fixed our makeup. I was still really pissed the guys were leaving us. I get that it's business but they could of at least thought of their pregnant girlfriends.

"You wanna take a cab home?" I asked Josie

"Yea sure"

We left the bathroom without the guys noticing us and left. A few minutes later my phone was ringing. Chris.  No thank you.

Josie's started ringing too and she ignored it as well.

When we got home I payed the nanny and then saw Savannah sleeping. I picked her up from her crib and cradled her in my arms. I sang to her and watched her sleep. I felt a tear fall from my face. Then someone put their arms around me. I turned around and saw the last person I wanted to see at this moment. He wiped my tears away and looked at me. I turned around still being mad at him.

"Leave me alone" I whispered trying not to wake Savannah up.

He ignored me and kept his arms around my waist. I tried moving them away but failed.

"Please go away" I repeated myself

"No I want to spend the last few hours with you before I leave" he said

That comment hit me like a train. I put Savannah back in her crib and ran out of the room and locked myself in the bathroom.

"Alison please open the door" Chris said

"Go away" I yelled

Since I wouldn't open the door somehow he still managed to open it.

"Leave me alone please" I said as my face was buried in my arms.

He picked me up and carried me to our room.

"Put me down" I demanded

He ignored me and kept walking and locked the door behind us.

"Look I know you're upset but this is something that Derek and I need to do" he said cupping my face.

"So your company matters more than your girlfriend and kids" I cried.

He looked at me and kissed me hard and passionately as if it were the last kiss he would ever give me. I kissed him back getting lost in his lips. I then pulled back and looked at him.

"I love you so much it really hurts to leave you especially when my princess is growing up and our other princess is about to come into this world" he put his hand on my stomach

"Please stay" I pleaded

"I'm sorry" he said tearing up

I completely understood that it was business that had to be taken care of but I was pissed that it had to happen at this time.

"When do you leave?" I asked

"Tonight" he whispered

"Ok well you better start packing" I said trying to be strong

"Promise me you'll call me of anything goes wrong and if your water breaks call me as soon as possible so I'm on the next flight" he said

"Of course" I said

He locked his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead.

"I love you beautiful"

"I love you too babe" I kissed him.
