“Sir, do you need some help?” One of the nurses had come back to where we were standing and had noticed my uncle leaning against the wall for support.

“Yes,” I raced over to them,”He’s super malnourished. I need you to get him a private room and make sure he’s comfortable.” I told the nurse who nodded and carried him away. I remembered one last thing, “oh and could you keep this under wraps, I don’t want everyone to know he’s here yet.” The nurse nodded and continued to take him away.

            “Who the hell is that?”

“That is uncle Silas who has apparently been caged in his own mind since after I was born.” I looked at him.

“Are you kidding me? Since you were born? What happened to him?”

“I have no idea,” I knew that Bryce and everybody would have a ton of questions for me but right now I was not in the mood for explanations. “And right now I don’t even know what to do about anything. I don’t know what to do about the people rioting or the new laws or anything. And Bryce who’s going to take over now? He’s in no shape and I don’t think I can lead anybody.”

“Shh, Andy, it’s going to be okay. Right now we’re going to take care of your mess of a shoulder and then you’re going to get some sleep. Right now all you need to worry about is yourself. Ill take care of anything else until you feel better.” I nodded and the next thing I saw was the floor.

When I opened my eyes again, everything was hazy and I had no idea where I was or what time it was either. I tried to sit up but a hand quickly pushed me back down. My vision slowly cleared and I saw Bryce standing over me, smiling down at me.

“Bryce? Where the hell am I?” I started to pull at the wires and chords that were attached to my body when he stopped me.

“You’re in the castle hospital. I told them you didn’t need any of this but they did it anyway.” He assisted me in pulling them out and helping me sit up against the pillows.

“What happened?” I sighed, running my hands over my face.

“Well you passed out in my arms.” He laughed, “You really needed some sleep. They took you back and stitched up your shoulder and then hooked you up to get some nutrients in you. When is the last time you ate?” he looked at me sternly.

I shook my head slowly, “I have no idea.”

“Well you were extremely dehydrated and nobody is really sure how you got through that battle.”

“Neither am I. How is my uncle? Whoa, those are words I never thought I would say seriously.”

Bryce laughed, “He is fine, good actually. We’ve been catching him up on the history and what he’s missed. He’s getting the help he needs. We’re going to bring in a professional too, he’s sure to have some problems. Being locked inside your head for almost two decades can’t be easy.”

“You’re telling me. What about the castle? What did the people ruin?”

“They didn’t ruin much although the north kitchen is gone. We’ve got construction workers coming next week. And the people in charge of that are being held until you can put them on trial.”

I nodded, taking in the information. “How long was I out?”

“A couple of days.” He winced.
