" potter "
chapter three

dear albus,
you will absolutely not, under no circumstances, ever, ever, buy me a gift. i don't need anything, and i dont need more guilt. "over one week" is far too long. do you think there is any possible way you'd be able to talk to your dad and convince him to let you come to the manor? please? im sure that once i can talk to mom, she'll convince my father to let you come over. just let me know.
scorpius.

scorpius was nervous beyond imagination as he walked up to his parent's bedroom and knocked on the door. draco was the first to answer, rubbing his eyes and furrowing his eyebrows.

"good morning. do you need something?" he asked in a drowsy voice as scorpius shifted his weight on both of his feet

"i wanted to talk to mom" he spoke in one breath and looked into his father's eyes.

scorpius had definitely gotten his father's... everything. he had his blue-grey eyes, his pale skin, his blond hair that was nearing on white, and he was about the same height as him. but, personality wise, he wad an exact replica of his mother. he was kind, sweet, caring, and always a bit shy. just like she was.

he grew up alone, with his parents as his only company, so he was never great when it came to meeting kids his own age. albus, on the other hand, was standoffish, and avoided meeting people. and by some strange act of magic, the two found each other.

draco pursed his lips and nodded, opening the door all the way and stepping to the side. scorpius scurried into the room, his head bowed as he walked to his mom's side of the bed.

"hi mom" he whispered softly as he sat down on the edge.

astoria was sitting up against the head board, a small cup of tea in her hand. she definitely looked different, paler, sadder, and she had a strained feel to her smile.

"good morning scorpius. how did you sleep?" she asked as she reached out and brushed her fingers against his cheek.

the small action brought a smile to his face.

"fine. i wanted to talk to you about a friend coming over" he blurted out.

astoria's face lit up, all of the exhaustion and anxiety seemed to drain from her composure. she wanted nothing more than he only, perfect son to be happy, to make friends and enjoy his limited years in hogwarts.

"of course, love. anyone. who is it that you're bringing?"

scorpius' lips pursed and his cheeks tinged pink

"albus" he whispered and smiled gently

astoria nodded, though she didnt know anyone named albus. it wasnt a surprise, scorpius never talked of his peers at school.

"albus...?" she made a gesture for him to continue

"potter" he caved breathlessly

all at once, the same exhaustion and drained appearance flooded her again.

"oh sweetheart. thats why you wanted to talk to me?" she assumed and gently took the boy's hand

scorpius nodded and sighed softly.

"i'll see what i can do" she assured him, leaning in and pressing a kiss to his forehead.

his smile did all the thanking for him, and it made his mother's heart swell. he got up silently and walked out of the room, walking upstairs into his bedroom.

the walls were decorated with hints of silver and green, for obvious reasons. his father had helped him decorate, even before he had gone to hogwarts. a small box right beside his bed contained every letter that albus had sent him, every gift he had given him, and every letter scorpis had written to him but never worked up the courage to send.

meanwhile,  in the potter house hold, albus had taken up the same tactic scorpius had. he had practically cornered his mom in the kitchen, as harry was still eating his breakfast in the dining room. ginny was listening to al ramble, her eyebrow risen in amusement.

"please, mom. i wont stay for long. he's my best friend." he pleaded .

ginny couldn't help but laugh as she nodded.

of course, she had the same intentions as astoria, make sure her son was happy. while this, of course, played a role in her answer, so did the fact that she continuously demanded that teddy not sleep in the same room as james, but harry disobeyed. she wanted to get back.

"you better get your bags packed before your dad notices" her voice held a hint of playfulness that she missed.

albus' eyes went wide as he nodded vigorously and immediately ran to his room

dear scorpius,
i just talked to my mom, and she said that i could go. she's probably going to cover up for me. how long can i stay? and when can i go? im really looking forward to seeing you, scorp.
love, albus
