There is a bus service here in Mobile, Alabama called Kingdom Coach. When I saw this name on the side of the bus, I immediately started thinking. Who is the coach of the kingdom? I thought it must be Jesus. He teaches us through parables, miraculous acts and most of all through his example of how to handle the dark side of humanity.
Yesterday after training with friends, David Gill and Jason Kelley, we were discussing the National Championship game. David Gill said something along the lines of Jesus only moves the rudder of a boat that is in motion. Then he re-quoted someone who stated that he only coaches those who are on the field.
I told him that I would use that because of the relativity of the statement. He said ;"to follow that people have to get off the sidelines and get in the game to receive the coaching necessary". He said;" the coaches of the national championship only focus or coach those players on the field, everyone else is behind them". Yes, they are on the team, but you have to get on the field.
I have always enjoyed being coached. The yelling, the screaming, the pain, the suffering and most of all the push to get the most out of my ability. One coach actually wrote that about me in a press guide during my collegiate baseball days, it was the greatest compliment of all. Do you get the most out of your ability? Do you challenge yourself? Do you push yourself or allow someone else to push you to your limits? Look at yourself. Are you on the sideline or in the game? Are you moving forward in your faith? Do you look at pain and suffering as a reason to be depressed or a challenge to get the most out of your ability? Do you trust your coach, your kingdom coach? Amen
