Jennie's POV
A second before I reach open the hospital doors Jisoo grabbed me by my wrist and led me to the plastic chairs outside my wife's hospital room. I put the snacks I bought beside me on an empty seat while Jisoo put her fruit basket down.
"The news" Jisoo sighed
"I know Chu, I can't tell her anything about that right now, I know her, she'll certainly blame herself"
"The tests were already out weeks ago, what part of the "engine failure" didn't they understand."
"Chu, if only I could pay them just so they shut up, I would gather up all our resources"
"You couldn't do that, It wasn't Lisa's fault and they need to understand that" Jisoo's annoyance was evident in her tone.
She took a deep breath "It's okay, worry about how you'd tell her stuff that has been happening, little by little, I'll worry about these families, sooner or later they'll understand" Jisoo assured me then handed me the fruit basket she brought for her bestfriend.
"Tell her I was here, I need to catch a flight,I just stopped by"
"Thanks Chu" I smiled.
I entered the hospital room, cuddled in front my woman was our child, Eijaz was too big to be a baby but still very young. For the most part Eijaz kept his head burried in his Dada's hospital gown, his black tufty hair sticking out behind like he's just woken up from a long nap. His fingers curled into the fabric, not clasping it tightly but just enough to reassure him they were staying together in this strange place. I catch myself thinking about that time when Lisa said "He was born with a hurricane for a soul, that one" referring to our son. But says it in a loving way with such glow in her eyes. She would rock him in the dead of the night when she found him impossible to sleep when he was a baby. She would soothe him with a lullaby and would whisper sweet things in his ears. She loved the hurricane right out of that child and replaced it with a sweet summer breeze because above all, Eijaz was our baby.
A tear fell from my eye.
Lisa opened her arm for me while sitting in her hospital bed and gently, I decided to cuddle in.
"Are you not in pain?" I held her hand and carressed it.
"Let me take Eijaz from you"
She shook her head.
"No baby, it's okay, I missed him...I missed him so much" Her lips quivered.
"I thought I would never get to see both of you again, It was what I was most afraid of, I never though I would ever make it out there alive" Salty beads of water started to fall from her eyes.
"I was unconscious for a second when we crashed, I don't have any idea what happened, I crawled to go out from the cockpit, fire was building up everywhere, last thing I knew, the plane blew up and it sent me meters away, I remember I was screaming, my bones, muscles, organs and joints felt like they were being crumbled and smashed into a tiny box. My lungs contracted with so much force that I was afraid they would fold into themselves. The only sound that filled my ear was the crushing of glass, mixed with screams of people in agonizing pain and the distinct cackles of my bone. Then suddenly, everything became light. You see baby... I can't believe I'm alive" She held my hand tighter and smiled.
