"Welcome to Wakanda." T'Challa greeted the group.
"Thank you. All of us have had a really crappy week so far." Thor thanked.
"You'll be safe here." T'Challa advised.
"Secretary Ross is still hunting us down." Carol noted.
"Let him come. Our defenses will stop him before he even reaches our borders." T'Challa informed them.
"I like this country." Sam smiled.
T'Challa lead them towards Shuri's lab, where she was working on the latest technology.
"Sister." T'Challa said.
"You brought a group?" Shuri looked at them.
"The Avengers. They are staying here for a while." T'Challa explained.
"We can we do for you guys?" Shuri wondered.
"We are wondering if you can help Thor." Carol said.
"I can. Is that is?" Shuri responded.
"Yes. You've helped us more then we could repay to you." Thor stated.
"No need." Shuri assured.
"Are you sure?" Thor said.
"Yes. Wait until you see the rooms we've prepared for you." Shuri smiled.
Shuri lead the group out of her lab and down several hallways. Thor looked out the window, watching the city below them. Carol walked right besides him, holding his hand. She smiled back at him, silently telling him they would finally be okay.
"This is the first time in months that I don't have to worry about anything." Thor sighed.
"You've been through a lot. This trip to Wakanda is a much needed vacation for you." Carol answered.
"Same with you." He smiled.
She chuckled slightly, and gave him the biggest smile he had ever seen. The group stopped moving, and Shuri started talking.
"These are your rooms." Shuri informed them.
"These rooms are larger then my house." Steve said with amazement.
"You guys are official guests of Wakanda. What ever you need, we can give to you." Shuri continued.
"So this is what royalty feels like." Sam grinned.
Sam excitedly ran into his room, exploring its many parts. Everyone else slowly made their way into their rooms, getting used to the weird culture of Wakanda. Carol stepped into her room, and immediately sat on the bed.
"This going to take some time to get used to." Thor looked around.
"It's a little nice for my taste but it'll do." Carol stared at the window.
"How are you feeling?"
"Great. What about you?"
"Okay I guess."
"We're going to be okay. Shuri is going to fix you."
"That's what I fear. I don't want to risk forgetting you."
"Let go of that fear."
"I can't. Every time I try and ignore it, it's always in the back of my mind."
"Give me your hand."
Thor held out his hand, waiting for Carol to take it. When she did, he sat down right next to her. They sat there in silence for a few minutes, looking out the window. The nearby waterfall glowed as the sunlight hit it, making it look like it was on fire.
"That waterfall is relaxing." She smiled warmly.
"It's starting to make me tired." Thor responded.
Thor laid down on the bed, staring at the ceiling. He closed his eyes, listening to the wind hit the window. He yawned loudly, and attempted to fall asleep. Carol laid down right next to him, and they both fell asleep. For the first time in ages, Thor wasn't worrying about anything. His only thought was Carol. He held her in his arms, feeling her heart beat against his chest. He smiled to himself, finally happier then he had ever been in years.
"Do you want to know what I really want to do right now?" She looked at him.
"Hmm?" He wondered.
"Ignore the rest of the world and fly a plane with you."
"I miss doing that. It's been almost a month since I last flew a plane."
"It's been too long."
"I promise you when we get back to California, the first thing we are going to do is fly an F-15."
"I can't wait. That will be one of the best days I'll ever have."
"We could also go back to Pancho's Diner. I want to make up the night Rumlow ruined."
"You did beat the crap out of him."
"Right before he kicked me in the stomach."
"I punched him in the face a few times."
"He deserved it."
"Yeah he did."
