"So you're saying that when the lightning struck the Fort and then hit me, it somehow transferred data from the game over to me?"
"That's what I think."
Jason and Matt were back inside Jason's house, looking in the bathroom mirror. Jason was much more calm now, but he was trying to get used to his new look.
"Here," Matt said, handing Jason the cover of the game. "See for yourself."
On the cover of the game case, there was three animatronics. A yellow chicken, a purple bunny, and a brown bear. It had the title "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza - where Fantasy and Fun come to Life."
"So who exactly IS Freddy Fazbear?" Jason asked.
"Well, he is a normal bear animatronic...." Matt replied. "that has the spirit of a murdered child in him."
"Wait, what?!!"
"Well, it is a horror game!"
"That actually explains the nightmares I was having..."
"What nightmares?"
Jason explained to Matt all that he could remember from his nightmares. Matt listened and theorized what it could mean.
"It could be that it brought over all the information about Freddy that it could, him being the main character and all..." Matt theorized.
"But how do I go back? Can we fix this?" Jason asked urgently.
"Well, in the game there are six nights total, the last night being a bonus night where you play as another security guard. I think that if you play the game on the fifth night, you should go back to normal."
"So what do I do until then?"
"I guess... have fun with it."
"Huh." Jason wondered aloud. "I guess I could really scare some people with this..."
"That reminds me." Matt interjected. "After you woke up, I turned on the light. You then went nuts, chasing me around! Why did you do that? Do you remember that at all?"
"No I don't." Jason responded. "All I remember was you turning on the light, and then I was locked outside."
"Interesting... So any sudden flash of light makes you behave like the animatronics in the game..."
"Is that bad?"
"Seeing that's how you die in the game, yeah."
Jason thought about this. He didn't like how dangerous this could be. He wanted to focus on something positive now. "What else can I do?" He said, trying to change the mood.
"Well," Matt said, "I'm not really sure. I guess we could try doing some of the things from the game, and see if you can do them?"
"Sure. In the backyard though." Jason said, gesturing to the stuff he had knocked over when Matt had turned the lights on.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason, Matt, and Tracy were all in the backyard. It was now around 2 am, and Matt was wearing an old duck mask that he said would likely protect him, in case Jason went berserk again. He also said that the animatronics in the game didn't seem to have any programming for dogs or other pets, so he wasn't worried.
Jason had earlier mentioned about going to the hospital or telling someone about what happened, but Matt explained how bad that would work out. His best bet would be to stay out of sight until he changes back.
"Let's try with strength first." Matt said, holding a clipboard. "Try to lift up that dumpster."
Jason looked over at the old, blue dumpster he had in the backyard. They normally would store anything they couldn't burn in it. Jason knew it was pretty heavy. He walked over and tried to pick it up.
Jason grabbed the bottom with one hand. "Urghh..." He strained, trying to lift the dumpster with one hand. He put his other hand- er... paw underneath the dumpster. "Urghh..... Hah!"
Matt watched in amazement as Jason held the dumpster over his bear-like head. "Whoa." Matt said, astonished. "Okay, that's a yes." Matt checked something off his clipboard.
Jason placed the dumpster back where it was, and then walked over to Matt. "What's next?" he said, looking at the clipboard.
"Well, let's see if you can do the jingle." Matt said, looking up at Jason through his silly duck mask.
Jason looked down at him, confused. "What do you mean 'the jingle?'"
"Huh. I just noticed your eyebrows and facial expression changes too."
Jason suddenly couldn't see anymore. It felt as if he was remembering something. This didn't make sense at all. Then, suddenly, Jason saw a man in front of him, the man's face lit up as Jason heard sounds coming out of his mouth.
It was a song called 'Toreador's March.'
Toreador's March was a song that Jason had heard back in school, when the whole town got together for school talent show. A girl, Susan Whitely, had played it on the violin. This time, however, it was different. The song sounded like it was from a music box, and as it played, the light flashed on the man's face. The man's face was displaying utter terror.
"Jason! Jason! Snap out of it!"
Jason shook his head. "What happened?"
"You did it! You played the Toreador's March!" Matt said, obviously not knowing what Jason had just seen. "You really had me scared for a second!"
Jason sat down on a rock and put his head in his hands. "I- I saw a man's face." He said.
Matt, seeing the paradigm shift, sat down next to Jason.
"He was afraid." Jason said. "He was afraid of me."
Matt, looking down, put his arm around Jason's metal and plastic body.
"Matt..." Jason whimpered, "What if I can't change back? What if I'm stuck like this forever?"
"I don't know Jason. I... don't know."
