I shut my phone off and went to sleep not bothering to wait for a response, who knows how long I'll be waiting...

I hear the quiet buzz of my phone, squinting and looking around my room for a sign of the time (A/N: I loved that song) my mind finally realises what's going on and I lean over picking up my phone squinting as I see a notification on the home screen.

What the fuck I quickly sit up feeling nervous all of a sudden, it's 3am who wants to be talking to me right now.

I open my call log to see 2 Missed Calls from Grayson, 1 Voicemail also from Grayson. I quickly check the voicemail

"Hi Katija, I'm sorry I called you so late I didn't even think about time zones. I just wanted to let you know I'm booking tickets to Australia... you said you're from Melbourne right? I want to make sure before it's all booked let me know when you wake up. Okay bye."

If I were to describe my face to you right now... I'd say I look like a stunned mullet... but you wouldn't get that, so I'll rephrase that... a dear in headlights! Absolutely shocked.

I thought maybe he'd take a week or two to reconsider everything or think about it all... There's messages too I remembered... I quickly open my message app

Grayson: 2.30am

Hey can I call you? - G

I know I've been an ass but I'd really like to talk. Ethan spoke to me - G

I'm freaking out Katija. Please. - G

I'm sorry I just realised it's almost 3am - G x

Message me when you wake up, I can't stop thinking about all this. I'm going to come and see you as soon as possible. I'm looking at tickets now. - G x

I exhaled deeply after reading his messages, I hope he has had a change of heart, it would really mean the world if this baby had it's dad around. I decided it was best if I just responded in the morning, he realised what time it was so wasn't all that urgent and I was stupid exhausted.

9:00am

I stared at my alarm clock after what felt like forever, I'd been awake for at least 40 minutes but I just didn't want to acknowledge that I was awake and wanted to continue to pretending I was asleep and hadn't woken up in the middle of the night to missed calls, a voicemail and messages from Grayson. Don't get me wrong I was happy he was communicating with me, I was just terrified of what the outcome was possibly going to be.

I decided I needed to make myself something to eat/drink before talking with Grayson it was roughly 4pm in LA so I still had time to get over any morning sickness or uneasiness before I called. I put the kettle to heat and rummaged through the fridge and cupboards when my phone started ringing. I picked it up after seeing the contact name.

"Hi! I was thinking about calling you just after I made breakfast, how are you?" I asked a little relieved it was just my brother.

"Yeah hi, why didn't you tell me you're pregnant? I'm always the last to know in this family!" he demanded clearly annoyed at me.

"I'm so sorry Tom, I was going to tell you but I knew you were working and I know how little time you had for yourself and I didn't want it to be over message or a phone call. I wanted to tell you to your face because you deserved more than that considering you're going to be an Uncle and I had a cute little gift for you to surprise you! Please forgive me" I pleaded I knew he was mad but I did want to tell him just more personally considering he's my best friend my younger sibling.

"Yeah, yeah! Whatever. Congratulations idiot! I am happy for you even if you didn't tell me first." His voice was laced with sarcasm and humour, allowing me exhale a large breath knowing he wasn't as mad as he was making out to be.

"Thanks Tom and I am really sorry! Can we do dinner this week when you're not at the restaurant so I can give you my gift and we can talk this out further?" "Yeah of course, I'll even cook for you and you know how much I hate cooking away from the restaurant" he laughed.

"Thanks bro, I love you!" I smiled at his response.

"Yeah love you too, so is the dad the guy you told me about from your trip?" he asked I knew automatically by his tone he had that raised eyebrow look he always gave me.

"Yeah it is. And I told him as well, he didn't take it well but he messaged last night and I'm going to speak to him after I finish eating and talking to you" I sighed as the nerves rose again at the thought of having to speak with Grayson again.

"Well whatever the outcome you know I'll always be there for you and I loved you." He comforted.

"I know and I appreciate that so much, I really don't deserve to have a brother like you." I choked up... yet again.

"Please don't cry! We'll talk more during the week I need to go, Sarah is coming over before work. But I'll call or message you when's best for dinner and keep me up to date with everything and especially with the douchebag" 

"Yes I will, thanks Tom love you and say hi to Sarah, ciao" I hung up finally laughing at his comment about Grayson and take a seat at my bench finally able to start eating my food.

After eating and having my tea and throwing it all up I decide it's finally the time to call Grayson. I take a deep breath and open his contact and decide to facetime him, crossing my fingers hoping he answers the phone. The phone connecting rings out as I sit curled up on the couch.

"Katija, wow hi" Grayson smiles through the phone.

A/N: Hope you liked the chapter sorry its a little short and ended in a cliff hanger. I've been crazy busy being back at work so haven't had much time to work on my drafts and writing ahead of uploading. Hopefully this weekend I can catch up and write a couple chapters.
