"Sodapop you need to calm down," Sandra said as she rubbed his shoulders lovingly. He sat down in a kitchen chair and rubbed his temples.
"I can't believe Ponyboy left," he said. She nodded in understanding.
"Hey. Ponyboy is very smart. He'll do the right thing," she said lovingly. He turned around, still sitting.
"I hope you're right," he said, looking up at her. She could see the emotion in his eyes. She'd never seen him like this before. He let his guard down. He was more vulnerable then she had ever seen him. She sat on his lap and took his face in her hands, leaning down to kiss him. He returned the action with care. They parted and leaned their foreheads together. Sandra pulled her fingers through his hair as he closed his eyes.
