chapter fifteen

chapter fifteen:-

luke's pov:-

present time

i quickly got out of the shower and put on a grey shirt and black sweatpants. ashton, calum, michael and i decided to meet up at the studio to do some song writing.

picking up my phone, i unlocked the door and walked outside, my eyes locking with someone i didn't expect to see here.

"nova?" i called.

"umm, hi luke.." she gave me a small smile.

"how did you sleep here?" i asked, feeling confused.

i walked her to her house, why did she sleep here?

"umm, can we talk later?" she walked to me. "i have to work now."

"what happened to your face?" i noticed a red mark on her cheek. "did someone slap you? did he do it?"

"we'll talk later, luke," she repeated. "please."

i noticed tears in her eyes, so i decided to drop it and talk to her later.

"when are you finishing work?" i asked her.

"i think at 5 pm," she answered.

"i'll come pick you up, okay?" i told her. "wait for me outside."

"okay."

we said goodbye to each other and headed our ways. she walked to the reception while i walked to the car.

michael, ashton and calum greeted me with huge smiles.

"we're going to eat first!" michael exclaimed. "i get to pick the restaurant."

"sure." i laughed.

we ended up going to an italian restaurant. a few minutes later, crystal, kaitlin and clara joined us, since we texted them and asked them to spend the day with us.

after ordering our food, we started talking about random topics while waiting for our food.

"so, luke.." clara looked at me. "how's nova?"

"she's fine," i answered, not sure what to say next.

"are you guys together now?" kaykay asked me.

"no, we're not!" i let out a small laugh. "she has a boyfriend."

"she likes you, idiot!" kaykay exclaimed. "you'll see!"

"sure, we'll see." i smiled.

when our food came, we started eating and i couldn't stop staring at the time. it's 3:30 pm, and i had to pick nova up in an hour and a half. i really wanted to know what happened to her. i'm sure it's something related to her boyfriend.

did he hit her again? that explains the red mark on her cheek.. he slapped her.

my mind was racing, i couldn't stop thinking about her. i just want her to be safe.. and happy.

"you're thinking about her right now, aren't you?" clara winked at me.

"oh, shut up!" i smiled.

after we finished eating, the guys and i decided to split the bill between us. we paid the money and left the restaurant.

"you guys go to the studio, i have something to do," i said. "I'll be back in like, half an hour."

"okay."

they all left and i called a different driver to pick me up from the restaurant. in a few minutes, i was already in his car, heading to the hotel to pick nova up.

luke: i'm outside.

i sent the message and waited for her to come outside. when she got in the car, i greeted her, giving her a small smile.

"how are you doing?" i asked.

"i'm okay." she smiled at me.

we sat in silence until we reached the studio.

"thank you!" i thanked the driver and he smiled at me.

"i think this is the first time you're meeting my friends," i told her, not remembering if she's met them before.

"i think i've seen them before but we never hung out." she smiled.

when we reached the studio, i opened the door for her and when they all saw her, they started pulling her into hugs.

"guys, you're gonna kill her." i laughed.

"it's nice to finally meet you, nova!" crystal smiled at her.

"it's nice meeting you, too," nova answered.

"come on, we'll show you around!" clara, kaykay and crystal pulled her away and left the room.

"she's cute," michael said.

"she is." i smiled.

"come on, let's start recording!" ashton exclaimed.

a few minutes later, while we were recording, the girls came back in and started talking to each other while watching and listening to us.

i noticed nova was having so much fun with the girls, so i decided to bring her with me whenever we all hang out.

when we were done, we all said goodbye to each other and left. nova and i decided to get some ice cream and walk back to the hotel.

"so, are you going to tell me what happened?"

"what?" she gave me a confused look.

"come on, nova." i held her hand. "talk to me."

"austin.. he hit me." she looked at the ground. "he saw me wearing your jacket.. and he also saw the messages you sent me.. and he just started hitting me so i left."

"you could've told me about this, nova!" i stopped walking. "i would've helped you. protected you."

"i don't want you to deal with him, luke." she looked up at me.

"are you going to stay at the hotel?" i asked her. "you have to find a new apartment."

"i will, i hope so.." she gave me a small smile. "i also have to find new clothes."

"you didn't take your clothes with you?"

"just some of it," she answered.

"okay, i'm not going to send you back to get your clothes," i told her. "tomorrow, we're going shopping. you, me, and the girls."
