Chaper 2

As soon as Joey had arrived at the dark alley his heart ached, all he could think about was Kalel. He was missing her like crazy and regretted ever leaving her. Why was he missing her already? He just saw her only half an hour ago. Surely he would be back with her in a couple of hours when he was finished shooting for the day. He would cuddle up on the couch with his arm draped around her watching American Horror Story. Just the thought of her made him feel fuzzy and warm. He could almost smell her cotton candy fragrance from her neck.

Director: "Joey? Hello?!"

Joey: Snaps back into reality "huh?"

Director: "You need to get in your position, were going to start filming in five minutes." he said a bit too forcefully "Do you know your lines?"

Joey: He looked around a bit bewildered and finally replied with "Ahuh."

The director gestured him where to stand and read him his lines, seemingly knowing Joey hadn't spent a moment going over his lines. He wouldn't waste his time on it since his dyslexia got the best of him. While the director was giving him his lines he couldn't help but feel stupid for not being able to read it himself without making out the wrong words. He consistently dreamt about going to college, and dreaming about how different it would have been if he hadn't dropped out. Maybe everything would have been different. Good or bad different? He pondered for a while. Once again dyslexic Joey was daydreaming, entirely forgetting what he was supposed to be doing.

Now all that was in his mind was Kalel. Oh beautiful, loving, magnificent Kalel. He hadn't thought about how he had left her in such a rush. Had she seemed sad the last time he saw her? Oh dumb dumb Joey! Of course she was upset. He had left her without a goodbye kiss, he hardly had spent any time with her. Now was when things were going to change, he would make things better.

Joey got into his car without saying a word, leaving the director and the other actors dumbstruck. He stopped at a nearby Walmart and picked out a heart shaped box of dark chocolates and 3 red and pink balloons {her favourite colours.} He couldn't help but feel cheesy about his decision but he hadn't had time to pick out something special, he decided to try the nearby jewelry store, nothing seemed to impress him but something glistened in the corner of his eye, he turned around and found a gold choker necklace with a heart-shaped opal stone dangling in the middle of the silver lacing, her birthstone. It was perfect.
