CHAPTER TWO

"What happened next?"

"I'm already tired boy, I just want to rest."

My lolo's brain never fails him telling memories though age drags him in bed. I asked him for a memoir, but he prefers himself saying words instead.

Living a simple life in a province surrounded with dancing greens and fresh air will skip you from the exhaustion in the city. It feels like soul is being renewed of its silence and peacefulness, yet boredom will simply kills you softly.

That's why I make myself busy cooking my loved adobo and as I open the other fridge, it welcomes me the overcastting fruits and I found no alcohol which I seek. It thinks me driving to the nearest mini mart for some stock.

The store is not that fancy as the city's, but goods are almost all present in enough stocks. As I grab some snacks and alcohol, someone in my front shelves pinned my attention. She's already a while watching me, but I just ignore it for no one recognizes me in this far. When my basket weighs enough to cost me picking some, I manage to drag the basket to the counter, but a metal in my waist stop me from moving.

Wait, I think it's a gun. "Who's t-h-e...?"

"Hi Charles, it's been a while. How are you?"

"Joyce? What the f-u-c-k! Remove that gun."

"Don't make any noise, I'm no more patient, or else I will release this in any second."

"Okay fine, let me first pay these." Calmly said.

"Good! But I'll be with you Charles."
Joyce guards me along the exit towards the car. As we're close, another face is there; it's Vincent! Oh, it never surprise me anymore and I guess troupes are also inside the car. What a coincidence; I hope it is just a damn coincident reunion and not a well-planned trick.

Faces are then my life's saviour I thought. They were just strangers and then later tied myself with them.
That was on my third year in my course when I almost got failed of all my subjects just because of a relationship breakup for things were already toxic. It was just that, I was being cheated with the girl I really loved the most. Insane right?

The team were there and it was Vincent reached out me on a table in a bar. He friendly forced me joining their table and I was convinced. They were familiar to me in the campus, but that was my first face-to-face encounter with them. Though they were just random friends, but I have still joined them since it was a breakthrough of my life to a miserable one. We were totally had fun that time considering powders and syringe of different dosages exactly illuminated us how to feel like being differently happy.

It happened on a VIP room reserved for us in the bar, so unbounded agenda were easily got in no fear. When I am almost consumed by the drugs and the alcohol, things were just in slow motion and in blurry resolution. I remembered Joyce managed herself taking chance of my unconsciousness; she touched and kissed me down to something else private.

Our friendship has started rooting that time and extremely in the following weeks, months and year. I did not finish the semester and took time with them. Hang out, smoke, drug, sex and ran my family's eyesight which literally a contrast of my previous life.

One rainy evening, in the middle of our session, the music was loud, voices were dancing in joy and I thought everything seemed stable, but it wasn't. We were ten in the compound; Joyce was lying on me in the long couch being tired from sex and from everything. Arnold and three of us continued themselves enjoying the drugs while others were having their pair in a corner doing same except Vincent.
