Sam's POV:

My eyes widened and I suddenly felt overwhelmed by the words that left her mouth moments ago. I may have always been interested in the idea, but I wasn't sure if I was ready for this kind of step. Saying yes to a diaper gives up all control. My brain played tug of war with my heart in a matter of seconds, but that just lead to more confusion. All of the what-if questions began to plague my mind as it became difficult to take deep breaths.

Kayla embraced me in a hug and I tightly gripped her shirt collar. She steadily rocked me from side to side and laid forehead kisses occasionally. In a matter of minutes, the panic and lack of oxygen were depleted.

"How are you doing sweet girl?"

"I'm feeling much better than I normally do after something like that happens," I said, reflecting on past experiences.

"You don't have to wear it if it's going to cause this much panic. We can just get you to the potty more often to combat it," Kayla said worriedly.

I shook my head. The small panic attack had cleared my head and I made a decision.

"Use your words, sweetheart."

"I-um I want to wear it," I whispered out.

Kayla's POV:

I smiled in surprise of her admission and as a blush graced her features. I always had a hunch that she was hiding something she wanted.

The little one, clearly back in headspace, reached up for me as I set her on the floor. I stood up to grab the supplies and I looked down to see the baby trying to crawl out the door. I set down what was in my hands and gently tickled her stomach. She squealed and fell on her back.

"Come on baby, we need to get you all dressed for your nap," I said in my no-nonsense tone.

Sam rubbed her eyes with her little fists and shook her head.

I lifted her gently and brought her to the previous spot. She seemed to have realize what's going on because she began fidgeting and chewing on her lip.

I grabbed the pacifier from the counter and ran it against her lips until she took it. She looked up at me and covered her red face with her hands. I decided to leave it be because nap time was long overdue.

"Lift up sweetie," I said with confidence even though I knew how big a deal this was.

I slid the diaper underneath her little tush and I softly rubbed her stomach when I felt her breathing pick up.

I took a deep breath and began to sprinkle the baby powder on. I put it in every area to prevent a rash. This whole ordeal is emotional enough and a crying baby because of a rash would not be very fun.

I gently rubbed in the powder and felt Sam relax under my touch. Her hands were no longer over her face and the pacifier was starting to fall out of her half open mouth.

I slowly pulled the fluffy padding between her legs and I moved the tabs, making sure it was not too tight.

I grinned at my baby girl in only a diaper and I grabbed the onesie from the counter.

I tapped her feet and waited until she looked to show her it. She smiled shyly at the pastel blue material with the phrase Mommy's Girl on it.

I brought the onesie over her head and rolled it over her tummy. I snapped the buttons at her crotch and started putting on her socks.

I couldn't get enough of my little sucking her pacifier while wearing a onesie with matching frilly socks. We've made a lot of progress.

I reached under her arms and carefully picked her up. I set the exhausted little on my hip as we walked downstairs.

"Baba?"

"That's right sweetheart!" I said happily. Asking for a baby item is a big step and it brought me a lot of pride.

As we waited for the microwave to stop, I rhythmically patted her freshly diapered bottom and I whispered soft coos in her ear.

Sam's head was resting on my shoulder when I pulled the warm bottle out for testing.

"Can you hold on to this for mommy?" I asked handing the bottle over after an eager nod.

"Thank you, my sweet little baby," I cooed while purposefully patting her bottom.

She squirmed and hid her warm face in my neck. We walked back to my room and I sat us both on the bed. I took out her pacifier and replaced it with the bottle.

After a moment of letting the teat of the bottle rest in her mouth, she began suckling at a leisurely pace.

The warm milk and patting of her bottom caused her to fall asleep with only half of the bottle finished. I replaced it with her pacifier and I shifted her under the covers. I tucked her in and began to walk out of the room when I saw a large package through the window.

I walked outside and I realized the crib was inside of it. I pushed it into the house and I sat down. This house isn't big enough for my lifestyle and we're about to graduate in a few months. Sam hasn't been with her family in a few days and I don't really see mine either.

The idea had been turning in my head for a while, but it had to be put on hold when Sam came into the picture. I've always wanted to have my own place and now that I have a little it seems necessary. We should move into an apartment. I have extra money from an inheritance and I'm sure my mom would contribute.

I started to look up places on my phone, but I knew not to get ahead of myself. Sam and I's relationship is pretty new and I don't want to rush into anything without fully thinking it through.

I had spent an hour and a half researching when I heard noises from upstairs.

I walked up and saw my little girl stretching and twisting.

"How was your nap baby?"

"Was goo-" Sam stopped suddenly and looked down.

I followed her eyes and saw the swollen diaper strapped on her hips.

"It's okay sweetheart, that's what it's for," I said while stepping towards the shorter girl.

She teared up and reached her arms out for me. I thought she would hide away, but she was so deep in headspace that her little mindset didn't know what to do.

I cradled her in my arms and paced around the room. Her binkie had fallen out at some point, so I searched through the covers until I found the comfort item. I set it in her mouth and waited for the smaller girl's whimpers to cease before setting her on the bed.

I quickly grabbed a new diaper and supplies from the closet. I opened up the buttons and pulled the onesie up. I made fast work of undoing the tabs and cleaning her up. I added more powder and rubbed it in, satisfied when she relaxed again.

Sam's POV:

Mommy always makes me so comfortable when she gives me tummy rubs. It feels like a different world when I'm with her. Everything's taken care of and I have no worries.

I'm brought out of my thoughts by the fluffy padding of another diaper being pulled up between my legs. I grinned at the feeling and security it provided.

"I think someone likes their diapers," Mommy said with a smirk when she noticed my now happy expression.

My face heated up and I started crawling away on the bed.

"Where's a little baby butt like that going off to?" Mommy asked playfully.

"Da moon," I lisped out behind my paci.

"Oh really? Do you think you're ready for such a big mission without your mommy?"

"Uh huh, 'cause I a big girl," I said confidently.

Mommy hummed and looked at me with an unreadable facial expression and said, "Who is going to change your diapers in space, little one? Or feed you your baba?"

I plopped down on the bed in confusion because mommy seemed to be right again.

"You could have the aliens do it."

"A'iens?" I asked uncertainly.

"But they're not very gentle and they won't give tummy rubs," Mommy said matter-of-factly.

I like tummy rubs! The moon can wait for another day. I crawled back to mommy and she buttoned up my onesie.

"Are you ready to explore the kitchen for some food sweetheart?"

"Yes mama," I said, realizing how hungry I really was.

Mommy was making chicken noodle soup while I sat at the kitchen table coloring. Someone knocked on the door and I stood up to answer it. Mommy called for me to wait as I opened it and I tried to wait for her, but the people on the other side pushed it all the way open, exposing me in a baby onesie with an obvious diaper bulge.

The pacifier dropped from my mouth as I faced my parents.
