Christian has been staring at that clock since he got into bed around 10. Hell, he'd been staring at that clock for the past 15 years of his life.
If not that one then another, something else keeping him up at night. Something that he fixated on as the minutes disappeared.
He used to love the night. It would get dark and the stars he had scattered around his room would light up. He used to love those as a child.
Then after time, those became what he stared at. Stared as he was defiled and degraded. Now, he fucking hated the night.

Around this time, he'd usually think about his mom, about how he'd ended up where he did. All the events leading to the..nightmare he was living.
She died when he was young but he still remembered the sound of her voice. The way she laughed.
He only had a few good memories. Everyone forgets, right? His favorite was probably the most painful.
He had a nightmare that night and he had run to his parents room. He crawled into their bed as he sobbed and they slept, and dug himself under the covers between them.
His parents eventually woke up at the crying, realizing what had happened before hugging and kissed him.
Everything will be fine, they said. It'd just a dream. It can't hurt you. We're here.
Christian had a perfect family back then. Two loving parents that would give the world to him, if that's what he wanted.
Then his mom died.
And his dad went with her.
Now all that was left was a shell. No emotion or morality or decency, not even for his own fucking child, all the lines were blurred to him.
Maybe he did feel guilty from time to time, maybe that's why Christian got so many presents on Christmas even though he acted like an asshole all year long.
Maybe that's why he got the clothes he did and the car he did and the freedom of friends and parties, even alcohol.
Maybe his father felt like he owed him something, but that would mean he had to know that what he was doing was wrong. That he'd ruined his child for good.
That's the part that twisted up Christians insides and made him want to scratch his eyes out.
The thought that his father was aware and was sorry and that he did regret it...the fact that he still hadn't stopped and never would, even though he knew he was killing Christian. His child, his 'baby boy'.
Ruined and worthless because of him.

His eyes slid closed as the clock turned 12.
