Betty was shocked. At Senior year graduation, they promised they wouldn't stab each other in the back in anyway. Yet, Veronica had just stabbed her in the back. She wasn't mad about her dating Archie, she was mad she decided to get with him right after she had broken up with him. She was worried that Archie was gonna go the same to Veronica as he had done to her. Jughead knew that Betty was upset again by looking at her face. He hated seeing Betty upset. He didn't want to ask the same question "are you ok" over and over again. He knew that wouldn't do anything.

"Betty, how about we go to Sweet Water River and have a picnic," said Jughead while holding Betty's shoulder.

Betty slowly moved her hand up and down with a slight smile saying sure. This is picnic was a opportunity for Betty to clear her mind.

Jughead went ahead and started the car. Betty made sandwiches and put some pop in the basket. As Betty went to the blanket closet to get 2 blankets, Jellybean walked in the room.

"Hey Betty, where are you going," asked Jellybean.

"Oh I'm going to Sweet Water River to have a picnic with Jug," said Betty while on her tippy toes trying to get a blanket from the top shelf.

"As a date or.."

"As a date, and just a little hangout to clear my mind," said Betty interrupting Jellybean.

"Do you mind if me and my boyfriend join," asked Jellybean.

"You'll have to ask Jug for that, it's fine with be just ask Jug," said Betty while closing the blanket closet.

Betty was confused. Jellybean had a boyfriend? She was only 18 going on 19. Betty thought back to when she was 18 and remembered what happen. She lost Jug. Everything that happens just brings her back to the horrible past. She had lost focus and didn't realize Jughead has came in from starting the car.

"Betts"

Betty jumped.

"Sorry," said Betty slightly embarrassed,

"Ready to go, Jellybean and Luke are joining us, don't worry they are going to swim the whole time, they won't interrupt us," said Jughead picking up the basket.

"Yeah let me get my coat and cell phone," said Betty.

Betty went upstairs and got her coat and cell phone. She realized she had a text message. Veronica. She didn't want to ruin the nice date Jughead was willing to take her on with a silly text message. Betty couldn't help herself. As she walked down the stairs, said turned on her phone to read the message.

"Hey B. I know your upset with Archie. But please don't be upset with me. I know the promise we made at high school graduation. But I really love Archie. Just please be happy for me. I couldn't find someone that truly loved me for 5 years. Archie was the one all along and I really do love him. And he seems to really love me too."

Betty didn't know if she should respond or not. Jughead was already in the car so she made her way to the car. As she locked the the door, her phone buzzed, again.

"Hi Betty, can we talk?"

Archie. It was Archie. Archie had texted. Betty didn't feel relieved. She- she felt even more upset. Betty didn't move from the door step. Jughead looked up from his phone and saw Betty just standing there. He got out the car and yelled,

"Betty, you alright?"

She wasn't alright. Did it really take him almost a week for him to reach out? Did Veronica actually remember the promise or did she remember after her and Archie got together? Betty was in a deep hole of stress and questions. At the moment the phone hit the floor.

"BETTY!" yelled Jug from outside the car.

Betty had passed out.
