Episode 6: The Secret

Studio A

In the office, Nick is on the phone to somebody as Emily walks in.

Nick: Yes, yes. The contract will be ready at the end of Nationals, don't you worry. Ok...Ok, bye.
Emily: Contract? Who's that?
Nick: Stuff for the studio.
Emily: Oh, are we extending or something?
Nick: No, no. Don't you worry, ok.
Emily: Hmm.
EmilyTH: Whenever nick says "don't worry", I worry. I worry a lot than usual.
Nick: Now, duets today?
Emily: Indeed. I was sent this information slip about duets actually, I filed it away.

Emily goes into the filing cabinet and pulls out the information for the duets.

Emily: Here. "Duets this year is to strictly be performed by people of the same gender and people who are not a couple. This is to mix up the chemistry the dancers may have and allow a challenge."
Nick: Interesting...
Emily: Do you mind holding them? I've got a lot of emails to reply to.
Nick: Of course, anything to help.

Studio 1

Piper is in Studio 1. She wants to let all her emotion out by doing one of her favourite solos, "lose Control".

PiperTH: Thinking about leaving tns, it's hard. However, I need to think of me and what I want in the future. It sounds selfish, I know but I need to do what's best.

Piper does all of her best turns and kicks as she continues to push through the emotional solo.

PiperTH: I'm not letting Finn, Amy, Emily, Nick or anybody hold me back. This is what's best for me and I'm gonna do it.

She finishes off her solo as she stands up and looks around the studio. She realises that she's made a lot of memories here and it's going to be hard to say goodbye.

Studio A

Nick walks out to A-Troupe who are all stretching and anxiously waiting for the next announcement.

Nick: Right dancers, the next round at nationals is duets.

Cleo excitedly looks over to Jude.

CleoTH: Jude and I have had a duet ready for a while now, we've been waiting for this.

Nick: However, there are new rules. Number One: It has to be with the same gender. Number Two: You cannot be a couple.

Cleo's excitement is shortly lived when Nick announces this, she rolls her eyes in frustration and walks out.

NickTH: I can understand why Cleo is upset but this is Nationals, we need to stay strong and united.
Nick: So, the auditions will be in at least 2 hours so grab a partner and I will see some of you in Studio A.

Emily walks out the office and looks around for Summer.

Emily: Summer?!
Summer: Yeah.
Emily: Can I talk to you for a second?
Summer: Sure.
SummerTH: Am I in trouble?

Summer walks into the office and takes a seat.

Emily: No need to take a seat. This is gonna be short and sweet.

Summer giggles.

Emily: What?
Summer: That rhymed.
Emily: Yes, it did. I didn't do it on purpose though.
Summer: Is everything ok?
Emily: I know last time didn't go well, but I would like to congratulate you. You're the new dance captain of A-Troupe.
