Happy Reading!
"Hello! Ladies!" We were surprised at a sudden shout. We smiled as we welcome our new mentor. I looked at the clock and I saw it's already 2 hours since Ms. Vega left. I think they are handling many trainees.
"Good afternoon!" We saw a girl with a leggings? Black top and a jacket covering tied on her waist. She is sexy.
"Hi, I am Keola Lim. You can call me teacher Keola. I am a professional dancer from US and I will be your mentor for dancing and I also hope you can learn a lot from me." She smiled!
"Now, I can see your name tags and I want to know you more. I want you to dance..." She groove and started dancing. "Then I can know what's your ability and how can we improve it." She smiled.
"Music, cue!" She started playing some thing with the big speaker. She danced with all she can. Skills expressing that she is a professional dancer. Until then she pointed at me. I am shocked and danced also. Of course, I am ready for this. I always dance in my room when I am bored. I showed her every dance that I can with my whole body.
"Woah! I didn't know that you were this good!" Irish cheered.
"My! Awesome!" Paris clapped and I heard the "Go! Abegail!" of the twins.
Hearing their cheers and claps make me do good. This is not the first time I danced in front of many people. I used to dance at contests inside the school. I pointed at my teacher again and smiled. She danced again and chose Paris.
Paris danced something in, ballet? She is also good! The music changed as she danced. We are cheering for her. It is my first time watching her dance and probably the other girls.
It went on until Trisha. She danced something and I know this is not her forte. She just danced anything she raised her hand and just waved it from left to right! Her feet is also moving and she just swayed her hips. She shut her eyes closed and move to the music. We can do anything but to laugh. I can see Irish laughing at her twin.
"You think I can't rock it, huh?" Trisha asked us before looking at Irish who is now dancing. She can dance I don't think she can rock it based on the looks of Teacher Keola.
And few minutes later, our eyes looked at Mika. She can't dance she is confidently walking on the center. Uh-oh. I don't think this is a good idea...
She closed her eyes and danced something. Is that what they called crumping? Krumping? Ahh... Whatever.
We laughed again and I am tearing up. Even Paris while the twins were clapping and cheering Mika. I know Mika will do something funny but I didn't know that until this extent!
"Okay, a round of applause, please!" Teacher Keola said. We were still laughing but all of it is over and faced Teacher Keola.
"Now, I knew that not all of you is good dancing." She smiled and we all nodded. "Since, we are still on our fist day. I will be easy on you..." Then she started with her lesson.
"First is the Contemporary Dance. It can be almost anything. It can be danced barefoot, en pointe or even in socks on stage. Contemporary Dance can be dance with or without music and just the breathing and count of the dancer. This is also a fusion of both modern and ballet dance..."
And the time goes on. She taught us about many different types of dance and we got a lecture from it to study as well. The moment I looked at the clock it say it's already 9:45. We are still on practice time.
"On your first main task is to make a choreography on your own assigned song. You can use any type of dance that we've discussed. Please know that when we judge, there are many different thing that we should see. The first is appropriate emotions. The story that you're trying to narrate on your performance, the mastery and of course the choreography which should be unique and different. Something like it is the first time we've watched. This is by individual. It is one of the performances you need to do in this week. This also one of the reasons why your schedules are a bit too much for a trainee. We are finding talented youngsters who has world-class talents. So good luck. Don't worry. Us, mentors will be your guide." I looked at my members who saddened at what Teacher Keola said. I looked at the floor. That is the reason why it's too much. But... Wait?!
