"Anthony! " my voice loud and startled as the other customers looked at us. I embarrassingly apologized then talked to him silently.
"She's in a relationship! With your best friend in fact. "
"Their both my best friends and I got Cock block. "
"Cock block? "
"My best friend stole away Jillian before I got the chance. "
What was wrong in this school, their students are all best friends and I love your lover!
"You're clearly mad, she's happy in her relationship. "
"Trust me they're not, you're not Jillian's close friend so you won't know. " he glared at me as I bowed my head. I paid the groceries and head over outside without him. He clearly deserted me after rejecting his offer.
It was raining badly. Coming in the mall was no problem since Mark had a car but as a stupid girl I went out and now I have no ride.
Mumbling over a few curses as I went to find a taxi, I heard a honk of a truck.
The truck's door opened and it was Anthony.
"Well you wanna catch a cold from this rain or what? "
I didn't protested and hop on in for a ride.
"Thanks. " I mumbled after wearing my seatbelt on.
The journey was silent, silent as he'll. My grandmother's funeral was noisy as fuck than this.
"I'm sorry about what happen at the grocery store. " he spoke with sincerity in his voice and his eyes fixed on the road as rain blurred out the path.
"It's okay. "
"I can read people you know, I lived in this town for years. A small provincial girl like you must have it rough yeah? " he asked.
"Yeah, adjusting in was hard I couldn't eat dried fish anymore or the neighbor's in my Aunt's apartment would came banging at our door. " I offered a faint smile.
"You're talking, is something the matter? Cause last year, You always kept on pushing me away and leaving me in fact. " I looked at him.
"Nothing's wrong, you were just too annoying last year. "
"Ohhh.. I'm sorry. " I apologized.
"I'm guessing you find me interesting then? "
"Oh yes, you always excel in class even if you don't speak out in oral exams mostly or doesn't do your homework for the past years as I heard. I was amazed by the fact that you are clearly a silent genius. " I grinned at him as he chuckled.
"What's funny? " I asked.
"Nothing, I thought of something else. You're a good observer but a terrible reader. Know why I don't talk to most people? " he asked me a question.
"Why? " well I didn't know.
"They weren't worth my time so I don't give a shit. " he spatted.
I nodded and reached out to my phone as I documented what he told me.
"What are you doing? " he asked as he gazed at me but couldn't read what I was typing.
"I just typed in what you said. " I replied.
"Clearly you are a dumb bunny. " he laughed as he pulled over to the apartment.
"Well I'll think about it and thanks for the ride Anthony. "
"You're welcome. " he quickly closed the close when I was out and his face was stoic again. It wasn't the one laughing at my stupidity or innocence.
I couldn't help but hummed on the way back to my aunt's apartment room.
"Well someone's happy. " my Aunt grinned at me as she was preparing dinner.
When I heard that from her, I went silent as I recalled that Anthony was only interested on having Jillian as his girlfriend. The guy got Cock block by his best friend.
She didn't know what decision to make or where to ask some advice. Would she help him or let it all be? What if Jillian was unhappy with her relationship? What
After all it was always the pretty one.
