At Emily's command, Garcia took her place in front of the big screen and as she clicked her remote, pictures of a rocky shoreline and a vast body of water appeared. In the background rose several skyscrapers on the opposite shore, and an unsettling familiarity creeped up Lilac's spine; she knew this place.

"Two bodies have turned up in the San Diego Bay area. Both woman were found within a half a mile of each other on the shores of Harbor Island in various stages of decomposition." At those words, it felt like the breath had been pushed out of her lungs; Lilac always hated cases in her hometown. As amazing as it was to help people, catching serial killers in the place she grew up felt like she was tainting the good memories she had of growing up there.

Garcia clicked her remote again and on the screen appeared the bodies of two woman lying on tables and next to each, a picture of how they were found: naked on the rocky shores of Harbor Island, ropes tying their wrists and ankles. Both were covered in bite marks and were missing lots of flesh, seemingly torn off of them. What wasn't torn away was covered in heavy bruising, cuts, and stab wounds, all bloated and decomposing from being in the water. Lilac recoiled slightly at the sight of bones peeking out of the womans' bodies. Both had green tinted-skin from decomposition and water damage.

"According to the preliminary M.E. report, both died due to blunt force trauma to the back of their head, but they did not have much fun before they died. There are bruises all over their neck, faces, limbs and chests. There are also large pieces of flesh taken out of their bodies, but it's unclear if they were bitten or ripped off post or anti-mortem."

"Do we know what made those bite marks?" Rossi asked, squinting down at his tablet.

"The edges look torn and stretched out, like an animal tore off the flesh," Spencer replied.

"Can't the animal bite marks just be by chance?" JJ asked the group.

"I don't think so," Lilac answered. "San Diego doesn't have many animals that really like to eat human flesh, and they were way too close to the bay area to have been eaten by like, sharks or something. And anyways, the bite marks are way too small for anything like that and we don't have very aggressive fish there."

"Well, do we at least know if the dumping in the ocean was ritual or forensic counter-measure?" Tara asked.

Emily shook her head as she zoomed in on her tablet. "We can't know for sure yet, it might be both. Any evidence of sexual assault?"

"Still unclear. The coroner is running more tests but they were both so waterlogged that its hard to tell," Garcia said.

"Do we at least know who these girls are?" Luke questioned.
