Some things never change, but out of nowhere a world can be flipped upside down. Jordan was a twenty eight year old, single, and lonely man that was down on his luck, and living in upstate New York. He was a relatively average looking man who stood five foot and eight inches tall, weighted one hundred and seventy pounds, and had brown eyes, and messed up brown hair. Jordan lived with his only true friend Benji. Benji was a overweight, and lazy black lab.
Jordan usually passed his days working at his dead end job washing dishes at the local Chinese restaurant that was only three blocks away from his apartment complex, which worked out great for him since the brutally cold winters would mound up feet of snow that would be awful to drive through. But, its not like that meant a lot to him cause he did not have a car to begin with. Unfortunately, the local restaurant was struggling, and had cut his hours. Now that he was unemployed he wanted to spend his time trying to get Benji to lose weight.
Jordan lay motionless in bed as the sunlight punctured through the curtains that hung over his windows. The light invaded that dark room, and crept up to his bed. Jordan was in a sound sleep until the light had slowly made its way up his body and unto his face. He slowly opened up his eyes to see a blurry figure laying next to him. Jordan ran his fingers through his eyes. Then while Jordan had both eyes closed, a warm tongue ran up his face. He knew instantly that somehow Benji had made his way up onto the bed in the middle of the night.
As Jordan rolled over, he could see the clock on the nightstand."10:30 already?" he asked in a sleepy voice. Knowing there was no one to answer. He pulled the comforter off his body, and slowly made his way to the bathroom. Benji rolled over on the bed so he could look at Jordan. He let out a long yawn, and closed his eyes again. Jordan looking back at him felt a rare smile run across his lips as he shook his head, and closed the door. As Jordan slowly peeled off what little clothing he had on, he began to turn the knobs to let the water run and heat up before getting into the shower.
Jordan slowly steeped into the water. He let his forehead rest against the wall as the warm water ran over his body. Jordan closed his eyes, and let his mind begin to think about his life. "My parents....they would be so disappointed of me." he mumbled. A lone tear ran down his cheek and feel into the warm water as it was quickly rushing down the drain.
