A hotel in Lungmen

Rainy

"Exusiai, can you hand me a glass of water?"

Texas rubbed her temples. She had a headache from lack of sleep.

Exusiai handed her a glass of clear liquid. Eager to quench her thirst, Texas poured the liquid into her mouth in one gulp -- it came out of her mouth a second later, spilling over her cloth.

"...... Really, Exusiai. I asked for water, not the water of life of Ursus!" after a mass coughing, Texas caught her breathe, "Do you really have to give me alcohol first thing in the morning?"

Mumbling some Ursus words unknown to Texas, Exusiai gave her a thumbs up.

"I don't recall you being Ursus all of a sudden. I thought you were born in Lateran."

"It's nice to give new things a try." Exusiai pulls open the curtain and stares out into the grey sky outside, the noise waking Lunar in the process, "This is really the weather to take a drink, sleep in and stay inside the whole day. I feel like my halo's going to get moldy with this weather."

Pouring a bag of vitamin C powder into her cup of water, Lunar eyed Exusiai's halo: "Don't worry, Exusiai san. It's just a little dimmer than usual, it's not green."

"Speaking of which, when is the time R scheduled for a meeting today?"

"About ten o'clock."

Lunar turned her head towards the clock: "Texas san, can you repeat when is R supposed to be here?"

"Ten."

As if realizing something, Texas turns towards the clock as well. It is already preparing itself for the position of eleven o'clock. The hands overlapping each other, pointing in one direction in a rather unpleasant way. Just like the mood of the three inside the room.

"It's been over thirty minutes."

Lunar's fluffy white tail made some rustling sounds moving on the bed sheet. Her chains tinkered a little as she twirled her hair around with her finger.

"Well, he could be lost or something. At least give him sometime." Exusiai takes out a record from the shelf and put it in the record player. Followed by the rhythm of the music is a sound that reminds people of sunglasses, cigar, gold chains and a penguin.

"Speaking of which, I remember Mr. Emperor being pierced through the stomach last Requiem night."

Texas gave a small smile: "It's all tradition for him now. If someday that didn't happen to him anytime in a full year, I might as well be looking out the window and find a catastrophe looming over us."

"Yeah." Lunar nods a little, "Maybe if one day Mr. Emperor disappeared, it's just going to be regarded as a joke."

"Who knows." Exusiai shrugged a little.

The bell of the nearby clock tower is as precise as ever. It struck the announcement of eleven o'clock, interrupting their conversation.

The silence maintained in the small room, making the three feel a little uncomfortable. The only noise is made by Lunar's chains tinkering on her wrists

"He's late. That's not a good new. R's never late."

The three's mood plummeted even deeper when they walked out of the small hotel. Either because of the rain or something else, nobody is around, and R lies there on the ground, not even the rain is able to wash away the blood under him.
