Chpt 8: Dawn And Lucas

I wake up early I look to see if Hilbert is awake he has his arm dangling if the side and no blanket covering him I get out of the bed put on my clothes and leave my dorm I see someone in jean shorts a white tank top and long brown messy hair "hey Calem" they say rubbing there eyes "do I know you?" I ask she looks down "oh well I don't look very recognizable *yawn* it's me Hilda" I let out a small chuckle "oh wow you don't look recognizable" she seems really tired "hey I'm going to a café to get some coffee do you wanna come?" She looks at her watch "it's pretty early sure I got *yawn* time just give me a sec" she goes into her dorm and leaves the door open I see May asleep so I assume that May's her roommate Hilda walks out wearing a jacket "are you going to put your hair how it normally is?" I ask "eh it takes to long so nah c'mon" we walk for a bit when Hilda asks "where are we going?"

"There's a Kalosian café that's delicious" we get to the café and sit down we talk when I feel someone tap me on the back "hey Luc-" I turn around "oh sorry I thought you were someone else"

"no it's fine" the girl leaves after a bit we get ready to leave when the waiter comes to us "here's the bill" I grab some money and give it to him we start walking back "thanks for paying Calem" Hilda says smiling "hehheh no need for a thanks" we get back to the school I see the same girl from the café going up behind someone "hey Lukie whatcha reading" he looks startled when she rest her hands on his shoulder "wah Dawn do you always have to be so handsy" she pouts "I'm sorry I'm excited to see you" he sighs "it's not that I'm not happy to see you it's that you always sneak up behind me and put your hands on my shoulder" she walks in front of him and goes really close to him I can't figure out what she does but when she walks back I can see the guy with his hat over his eyes blushing wildly I start walking away towards my first class I guess the guy from earlier cause he ends up bumping into me "I'm so sorry I wasn't looking"

"no it's fine were you running from someone or?" I ask "no I just needed to get to class also I don't think I've seen you before"

"yeah I just came at the start of the year nice to meet you Calem" I reach out to shake his hand "Lucas you to" nothing of interest happens the whole day around five PM I see Hilda I run up to her "hey Hilda" she turns around "hey Calem oh I need to talk to you about something" her expression changes from happy to concerned "well want to just go to some restaurant and talk about it there" she nods we get there and sit down "so what do you need to tell me?" I ask "so you know about the dance right" I nod "people from the school and any other school can come"

"So what... oh" I let out a groan "Calem I'm sure that burnt or what ever his name is won't be able to get Serena" she assures me "yeah you say that but I swear he has some sort of mind control no matter who he can get a girl to fall for him luckily I just can give him a glare and he'll run off he's knows what can come also his name is Ash" we eat our food and head out when we're walking back I ask "hey that night you came in at like midnight what was going on" Hilda lets out a sigh "do you really want to know?" She asks "yeah" I say while nodding "look at this picture" she shows me a picture of to people in all black clothing that look like ninjas "these are members of team plasma and they don't really like me and Hilbert and there whole mission is to remove us if you know what I mean" I nod "anyways moving from that after the dance the twenty-sixth of  November is coming up you know what that means" I think "of course I know the twenty-sixth I don't actually what is it?" I ask "right you're new there's a tradition where on the twenty-sixth a ton of students will spend the night at someone's home"

"oh" we get back I open the door for my dorm I close the door behind me "hey Hil-" when I turn around to see him holding a black case that is thin at the top and large at the bottom "Calem what's this and why didn't you tall me about it?" He asks me "uh heh heh oh that um I don't-" he cuts me off "don't lie Cal" I let out a sigh "well this month is just going great alright cats out of the bag now again I learned guitar a couple years ago and I never told anyone just don't read the book inside" he puts it down on the floor "what's the book about" I try to think of an excuse "uhh it's a notebook yeah note-" he cuts me off again "Calem I've known you for months I can tell that you're lying right now what's actually is in it" again I sigh "there's two of them one's a journal I've been using since last year and a book for dra-"

"beep beep what's the second one actually for"

"I got it three days ago it... it's for song writing"

"there that wasn't hard now was it"

"oh no it was" Hilbert lets out a chuckle "well I'm just going to take this and be on my way" I put grab the guitar and head towards the park I bump into the girl from earlier "oh hi again did you think I was that Lucas guy?" I ask her "yeah well anyways nice to meet my names Dawn"

"Calem you to I'll see ya around" I wave goodbye and head to the park I sit down next to a tree and take out my guitar and book "alright lets see what I got so far" I clear my throat and sing what I have I eventually figure out the whole thing I put all the stuff back in the case I hear someone weep I walk around to the other side of the tree to see what's going on "Serena?" she looks up "Calem why are you here?" she asks "uh nothing what's wrong?" I ask trying not to bring attention to the guitar case "so when I stormed off Ash asked me out I started to date him and he said he got over me and then dumped he me I'm never going to get over him" she stands up I pull her into a hug her face is near the top of my chest she keeps crying "it's fine if you need someone to talk to you can count on me" she wraps her arms around me "thanks Calem well I have to go" she goes I get back and knock on the office door "excuse me sir could it be possible that someone could preform at the dance?" I ask "why yes Calem who'd you have in mind?" I walk in "actually I recently wrote my own song Mr.Rowan so could I" he takes a second before answering "could I see this song" I nod and hand him the book he reads it and says "you know what yes Calem you can preform this" I stand up and bow "thank you sir" I walk out and go to Hilda's room I knock on the door and May answers "hey Calem" she says "hey May is Hilda there" I reply "yeah one sec hey Hilda Calem wants to talk to you" Hilda steps outside and asks "you seem much happier what's up"

"I bought a notebook a while ago to write some music I finally wrote a song and you can't tell anyone this but I'm preforming it at the dance hopefully it'll win over Serena"

"that's great Calem can I hear the song"

"sorry but you're going to have to wait till the dance" I let out a chuckle "it better be good then" she says "oh it will"
