"Monitor his vitals. Call me if he showed some unusual symptoms or if his vitals went down." Y/n said at the intern not minding at Nayeon and her mom.

"Y-y/n, can we talk?" Y/n flinch at Nayeon who is smiling at her, not that wide but genuine. Y/n didn't smiled at the latter, she just looked at her.

"Sorry to interrupt but Dr. Lee, I received a call from the ER, they badly need you there." The intern earlier said which Y/n thanked God Jihyo in her mind for this opportunity to avoid Nayeon. Meanwhile, Nayeon and the intern glared at each other.

Y/n went to the nurse's lounge while there's Nayeon secretly following her. It's still the same Lee Y/n but hotter, cuter, smarter, beautifuler– is that even a right term? Anyways, Y/n got better.

"Dr. Lee, we have a suicide attempt patient. He jumped into a six floored building and tried to kill his son with overdose. They're in the ER right now."
The nurse said and Y/n walked towards those patients, non-chantly.

"What medicine did that man gave to his son?" Y/n asked as she rummage and typed at the computer in front, typing the diagnosis and current condition of Mr. Im.

"Ibuprofen." The nurse stared at Y/n for a moment making Nayeon dig holes at the two's back.

"How old is the son?" Y/n asked still typing.

"Six years old." Y/n looked at the nurse and ran as fast as she can. Ibuprofen is an analgesic intended for adults. If given to children, it should be on the right amount or else it would be lethal.

"I do understand how fucked up life is but why must you try and kill your son?"
Y/n said while still staring at the man.

"Does it hurt?" Y/n asked as she tap one part of the man's chest as he is still conscious. The man groaned in pain as Y/n smirked.

"You're saying that hurts when you want to die earlier." Y/n said sarcastically as her seniors went in. Nayeon who is watching Y/n from behind furrowing her
eyebrows.

"Lee!" One of Y/n's senior shouted at her.

"You want to know what hurts more?"
Y/n asked as she moved the curtains that are blocking the man's place to another place.

The man tilted his head and had seen his six year old son, lying in bed, doctors doing pumping his chest in attempts for
revival.

The others dragged Y/n outside the ER and had a scolding session. What Y/n just did might make the man have cardiac arrest. But the latter doesn't care.

"I refuse to treat him, Sunbae. I didn't became a doctor to treat a patient like him." Y/n said and walked out and went to her office. Nayeon followed her.

Y/n ruffled her hair in frustration as she bury her face into her palms, crying. She remembered how hospitals around Seoul refused her and her parents for a
treatment, knowing their case. She was hanged and after that her parents committed suicide.

Nayeon watched Y/n crying at the window. She can't move a single muscle, knowing she doesn't have a right to do it.
Knowing her father, who was treated by Y/n earlier is the one who refused Y/n and her family in entering their hospital years ago. Y/n doesn't know it yet.

Y/n cursed loudly and went out of her office, banging the door, Not minding whether who is outside her office. She ended up treating the man and it went well.

"Dr. Lee, Mr. Im is responding to pain and will be conscious soon." The nurse said that made Nayeon go to his father's room fast before Y/n will.

Y/n checked his vitals and advised the intern on the next procedures. She then went back to his office removing her lab coat which Nayeon found hot. Yes, Nayeon still followed Y/n.

"I-it's been a while, Y/n." Nayeon said and smiled at Y/n. Y/n sat on her chair eyeing Nayeon who sat on a chair in front of Y/n's desk.

"Thank you for treati–"

"There's something you wanna say and you can spill it, Nayeon." Y/n said opening her desktop. She's a busy person.

"I'm sure you know what happen–"

"My parent's death is out of your father's survival." Y/n said still busy with stuffs in her desktop. Nayeon was about to leave and heave a deep sigh but Y/n talked.

"But you know what? It's still hard to sort personal life with work."Y/n said and walked to Nayeon. She hugged Nayeon, tightly as she close her eyes. The latter froze at what Y/n just did.

"Y/n?" Nayeon called out the latter's name as she hugged her back. Y/n hummed in response.

"You can cry, I'll hold you." She replied still hugging the latter. Nayeon missed this. Nayeon missed her. Y/n broke down.

"It's kinda frustrating, I want to be mad but I understand why they have to reject us." Y/n said breaking the hug, still crying.

"Because I am a doctor." Y/n said and sat down, crying. She felt her knees becoming weak. Nayeon crouched down to Y/n's level and was about to hug the girl but the latter pushed her gently.

"Don't crouch down. Someone is staring at your legs, why did you wear that kind of clothing?!" Y/n said and immediately stood up, hugging the latter instead of crouching down. Nayeon chuckled at Y/n's reaction.

Y/n had fallen asleep because of the crying session and exhaustion. Nayeon placed Y/n to her sofa and bid a temporary goodbye as she needs to visit her parents. She left a sticky note that says she will comeback later.

"When will your shift be over?" Nayeon asked as she go back to Y/n's office, trying to find Y/n. An hour has passed since Nayeon left Y/n in the sofa.

"I'll be out just now." Y/n said as she walked in her office, buttoning her top.
Nayeon stared at her.

"T-the others want to see you, c-can you c-come over at the dorm?" Nayeon said stuttering and looking away. Y/n chuckled before nodding. She misses those dorks too.

"Can Idle come over as well?" Y/n asked and Nayeon nodded. Y/n smiled as she happily got her bag and rushed outside, holding Nayeon's hand that is holding the bag as she make a call with Soyeon.
