James's POV:
Fourth period was dragging on forever...neither Seth or Annabel were in this class with me. To make matters worse? Guess who IS in this class with me...yep. Fucking Jess. Thankfully, we had assigned seats, and I was not placed next to her. So, this class was at least tolerable. I sighed and looked up at the clock, "Ugh... still another 25 minutes of this shit.." I groaned internally.
I turned and stared out the window, maybe watching nature mindlessly would help the time to pass faster. There was a little black bird perched in the tree by the window, it was tweeting happily and looking around. I smiled as I watched it, the little bird seemed so care-free and happy.. I sighed again and looked at the clock, not even a minute has passed. God, this class will be the death of me.
I felt a small vibration in my pocket. I glanced up at the teacher, her back was turned and she was writing something on the board. I took the opportunity to pull my phone out of my pocket and hide it behind my book on the desk. Checking that the coast was still clear, I opened the text message I just received. It was from Seth:
'Man this class is the BEST. Guess who's sitting next to me? ;)'
I rolled my eyes and responded:
'Yeah, only cause you demanded to sit next to her :P'
I peaked up to make sure the teacher was still facing the board as my phone vibrated in my hand again.
'Nah mate, assigned seats. She seemed relieved to sit next to me ;)'
I sighed and rolled my eyes again.
'Cause she knows you, don't get excited.'
I looked up and the teacher was now facing the class. I quickly slid my phone down onto my lap. She turned back to the board and I peaked down at my phone.
'Don't be jealous ;P'
The bell ringing made me jump. I shoved my phone in my pocket and raced out of the room. It was finally 5th period, lunch time! I almost sprinted to the cafeteria. I walked through the doors and started looking around for Seth. "Maybe I got here first?" I thought as I didn't see him.
"Hey Baby! Where are we sitting for lunch?"
I sighed and turned around. There was Jess, looking up at me with a disgusting smile on her face.
"We're not sitting together, Jess," I groaned. "Go hang out with your mindless minions."
"Don't be silly! Why wouldn't I want to sit with my boyfriend during lunch?" she asked as she took a step towards me.
I stepped back and put my hand out to stop her. "I am NOT YOUR BOYFRIEND!" I practically screamed at her. She opened her mouth to respond but was cut off.
"For fuck's sake Jess! Go sit on a cactus and leave my boy alone!"
We both turned towards the voice and my heart leapt when I saw Annabel was walking over to us with Seth. Jess glared at Seth and stomped her foot.
"Ew, I do not want to sit with him, Babe!" she turned to me.
I looked at her and rolled my eyes. "Well, guess you're not sitting with me then!" I replied happily.
"Of course I am! I'M sitting next to you! NOT him!"
Before I could say anything, Seth interjected, "Sorry Baby Cakes, but three's company--four's a crowd."
