harry chews on his lip nervously as he sat in the waiting room. his leg wouldn't stop bouncing as he waited to be called to the back. he looked around, eyes roaming over all the pregnant women sitting around in the waiting room of the maternity center. some weren't showing yet and others were as big as watermelons, looking ready to pop. harry was the only male in the room, and it made him highly self conscious to be the only pregnant male in a room full of pregnant women. he felt like he was being watched and judged by everyone. he couldn't stop fidgeting in his seat.

niall wasn't helping his anxiety any. he kept tapping his foot impatiently, glancing at the expensive looking watch on his wrist, and complaining about how long they had to wait when it's literally only been about ten minutes, which wasn't even that long. his grunting and groaning was also setting harry off. he had told niall about the appointment the night before and niall- not without being rude- told him he would pick him up and take him there.

he was slightly relieved. harry didn't think he'd be able to drive himself. he was too nervous, not to mention he felt sick and slightly dizzy. niall kept bugging him the whole way here about that too, telling harry he better not throw up in his car or there would be problems. at that point harry was just ignoring niall's side comments and just focusing on what was going to happen during his prenatal check up. and what he expected to hear from the doctor. he hoped he'd hear only good things, but he never knew and he certainly didn't know how niall was about to react. niall was already pretty much agitated.

"can you stop bouncing your leg? it's getting on my nerves." niall hisses from beside him, placing his hand down firmly on harry's knee to get him to stop. harry looks at him in biting his lip as he calms his leg down.

"sorry." harry mumbles. he stares down at niall's hand that's rested firmly on his knee when he doesn't remove it after some time. harry bites his lip at the touch, feeling his skin prickle where niall's hand is. he felt like he hasn't had niall's rough hands on him in years, it's only been just a little over three weeks now. it almost felt foreign, but calming in a strange way.

and that's where his hand stays until finally harry's name is called, and he quickly stands out of his seat. niall stands up after him following him as the doctor leads them into the back through the door. she leads them down the corridors passing by other rooms that was already occupied by other patients until they came up to an empty room and she motioned first them to go inside. it was a medium sized room. two chairs in the corner next to an examination bed, and a computer monitor set up on the desk with a keyboard where a chair with wheels was placed. harry took a seat on the first chair, niall sitting next to him, crossing his arms and leaning back.

"how are you feeling today, harry?" the doctor asks, her voice calm and sweet. harry feels a little more relaxed at the tone.

"i'm okay." harry murmurs softly, clasping his hands together in his lap.

"alright, well i'm dr holly and i'll be your gynecologist throughout your full term. i specialize specifically in male pregnancies, i promise you are in good hands." she tells him, offering a sweet gentle smile. harry smiles back at her nodding. dr holly turns to niall and smiles sweetly at him, "you must be daddy yes?"

harry swallows thickly at the question, looking at niall who's jaw is clenched as he looks up at her. "possibly." he deadpans. dr holly gives him a strange look, feeling the tension build up in the room. she clears her throat.

"right.." she answers shortly before she turns and pulls up something on the computer monitor of what seems to be a file on harry, typing on the keyboard. harry releases a breath, shaking his head. she stops typing for a moment and reads what's on the screen for a moment, humming. "so, harry, you're 5 weeks and 5 days along. we're gonna discuss what you should be expecting and where the baby is at during this stage." she explains.
