"THOSE THAT FOLLOW"NATALIA HAD almost forgotten the merciless heat of a desert. It's been a long time since she had stepped foot in one and she was now reminded why she hated it. The sand itself got stuck everywhere and she knew she'd be wearing it for days before it'd finally go away and the heat blared down on her fair skin like a thousand suns.
A small coo sounded from beside her and Natalia turned her head to look down at the floating pod on the opposite side of the Mandalorian. The creature inside had proven hard to figure out. She had never seen anything like it in her entire life. It looked no older than a child judging by the look of it but Natalia knew better than to judge something by appearance.
She guessed it to be no taller than her mid calf and had three tiny fingers on each hand. It's big innocent eyes seemed to trap her in a spell as she stared at it. She was encased in it's cuteness and a slave to it's darling face.
A rustle suddenly broke the silent air surrounding them, one to large to be one of the small creatures running around. The Mandalorian must have heard it too because he suddenly stopped, tightening his grip on Natalia's arm as he slowly went to reach for his blaster. Natalia looked around them trying to spot anything out of the ordinary when a roar of sorts suddenly sounded behind her.
Natalia's eyes widened and she turned her head to see a Trandoshan jumping at her from above. A cry of pain ran past her lips as the man's weapon sliced her arm. Not even a second later Natalia found herself being pushed aside, the Mandalorian taking a defensive stance in front of her.
Natalia looked down to the wound on her arm and knew instantly the gash that was created would need stitches. The Mandalorian used his wrist guards to block the Trandoshan swings before finally catching it in his hands. Natalia back away from the two as they fought for control of the weapon.
A pair of arms forcefully grabbed onto Natalia as the Mandalorian knocked down the Trandoshan he had been fighting. Something cool pressed against her forehead and through the corner of her eye she made out the tip of the man's blade. This was just unacceptable. She'd survived through to much shit to die at the hands of a bounty hunter.
"Unhand me, you nerf herder." Natalia ordered as she stomped on the Trandoshan's foot.
The man grunted in pain but had little time to reover before she slammed her elbow into his side and pulled herself free from his hold. The Trandoshan went to swing his blade at her but Natalia dodged the blow. She bawled her fists together and slammed them into the man's head. She watched as the man dropped to the ground and scowled at his unconscious form. "So uncivilized."
She turned around to see the Mandalorian staring at her, or at least she believed he was staring at her. His rifle was held tightly in his hands but he was slowly lowering it. "You can fight." The Mandalorian spoke with a nod of his head, as if clarifying an answer to a question.
