I'm currently eating scrolling on my phone when my mom tells me

i put my phone down and start eating the only thing that was in my mind was that mar had a girlfriend. i wasn't jealous but imagine your boyfriend taking another girl out.

"hoy no va comer mi papá" you ask
"está trabajando horas extra porque no nos alcanza el dinero"

my family wasn't rich but we weren't poor in elementary people would make fun of me because I didn't have the things they had. my mom and dad work hours extra to play the bills. they would fight sometimes because my dad would be really stressed and spend his money on alcohol. i hated seeing him drunk he would just yell at me. sometimes i wish I could help them out but they don't let me they said I have to focus on studying so I don't end up like them. i couldn't listen to them so I would babysit sometimes and save up for things that I would want but couldn't ask for.

i get up and walk to the sink my little sister also gets up she hands me her plate and walks away you wash them. i only had one sister angie and she was 4. she was my biggest worry i hated how she would hear my parents argue. i would try and take her out to the store or cover her ears so she wouldn't hear anything.
