Hawkins, Indiana: Everyone's favorite small town to settle down and relax.

Really? Is that what people think of this hell hole?
The 17 year old girl scoffs as she tosses the newspaper, soggy from sitting out in the rain, onto the table.

"Anka, can you not throw the paper onto the table when i'm trying to eat breakfast," her older brother Jonathan mutters as he stabs an egg on his plate with the fork.

"Well can you hurry the hell up so you can drive me to school?" Anka barks back, her tone coming out more demanding than she anticipated it to be. Feeling bad after seeing her brother's microscopic look of shock, she slightly rolls her eyes as she speaks again, this time in a softer tone, "Sorry- I'm in a hurry."

Jonathan nods slightly before putting his fork back down next to his plate. "Breakfast can wait, c'mon let's go." Getting up from the table, Jonathan grabs his car keys and jacket before pushing his chair back under the table.

"Guys wait up!" calls out their younger brother as he quickly goes out his room and runs over to them, trying to somehow get his arms through the arm holes of his jacket.

"Here Will let me help," Anka laughs a little as she goes over to her younger brother Will and helps him put on his jacket.

Will rolls his eyes playfully as he grabs his backpack from off the couch. "I was capable of doing that myself, y'know."

"Yeah I could tell," Anka answers in a light hearted tone as she laughs softly and grabs her bag. "Okay nerds let's go," she declares, opening the door and walking out the house, only to be welcomed by the cloudy atmosphere, a gift from the heavy rainfall the night before.

After getting in the car, Jonathan in the driver's seat, Anka next to him, and Will sitting in the back behind Anka, they each buckled their seatbelts as Jonathan started the car and started driving to their local middle school to drop off Will.

"What are you in a hurry for anyway?" Jonathan questioned Anka as he kept his eyes on the road.

Looking out the rolled down window, Anka replied to him in a calm tone as she held her arm out the window, letting her hand feel the cool breeze against her skin. "To get the hell out of the house."

After a few of minutes of Jonathan and Anka mindlessly arguing about time management and other random shit, they finally arrived at Hawkins Middle School to drop off Will.

"Well, we're here," said Jonathan as he parked in front of the entrance of the school. "Remember Will, if you need anything-"

"Ask the secretary to call you, yeah yeahh," Will answered, relieved to finally have a break from his older siblings arguing. Unbuckling his seatbelt, he opens the door and slings his backpack over his shoulder as he gets out and closes the car door shut. "See you!!"

Anka waves at her younger brother walking into the middle school with her arm stretched out the window before turning to face Jonathan. "I can just walk from here. Thanks for the ride Jo." the 17 year old girl says with a faint smile as she unbuckles her seatbelt and opens the car door.

"Hey don't call me that- and are you sure?"

Stepping out the car and grabbing her bag, she nods as she stands up and closes the door shut. "Why yes, I am very fond of the idea."

Playfully rolling his eyes at his sister's sarcasm, Jonathan answers with a simple goodbye as he drives away from the middle school, heading back home to finish getting ready for work.

Finally

Walking past a bunch of middle school boys staring at her, Anka can't help but slightly cringe at them as she walks towards the nearby high school. After eventually getting to the front of her school, she looked around trying to spot her best friend Robin.

"God it was fucking hilarious! You should've been there!" the approaching male voice said, followed by the laughs of his surrounding group. Right as Anka turned around to see who's voice she heard, she nearly fell back as the side of a tall masculine body slammed into her. "Oh shiT-" the boy reacted swiftly, turning to face the shocked girl before quickly grabbing onto her waist to keep her from falling. "Hey are you okay??"

Looking up to see who had saved her from falling, Anka couldn't help but blink a few times as she looked at who was holding onto her.

Fucking. Harrington.
