~Broken~ (Steven X Spinel story {kinda})

~Citrine's POV...~

Finally...! After all these years, I never thought I'd actually succeed from this chaos... I love the chaos... Don't you...? Getting rid of that... PINK... We all know she's truly a monster... she's been nothing but that... It's obvious. Why else would I erase her planet? It isn't erased, yet, but... I will erase it... I will cause destruction, more than anyone has ever seen... And not even that "Steven" boy will stop me...

I walk over to the lighthouse, after destroying most of that city... It was dark, but tall... tall enough to see the chaos that unfolds, through a balcony... I would enjoy it, and I would not want anything less...

~Normal POV~

There was one thing Citrine forgot about... Spinel's gem.

She forgot to bubble it when she poofed her back in Homeworld. Steven, Connie, Lion, and the rest of the crystal gems got there in time, to see Spinel reform before their eyes... You see, Citrine felt like watching the chaos through the balcony of the lighthouse, however, she took off the necklace to make sure it won't fall...

Bad move if there's a gem that wants to reform. I think it's safe. Connie told the others, double-checking through the windows of the lighthouse. I don't know... What do you think Garnet? Steven asked. Garnet thought for a moment to herself, checking all the possibilities that could happen. ...It's safe. Lets go.

They all head inside, only to see a necklace on the ground... and Spinel's gem in it... Stevn grabbed onto the necklace, holding it close. He felt... guilty... He thought it was his fault... If he'd just visit more frequently, Spinel wouldn't have been poofed... Connie tried to calm him down. It's my fault...! It's all my fault...! Spinel got hurt because of me...! She got poofed because of me! Steven yelled, blaming himself more and more. It's not your fault, Steven...

But, Connie...! She... Steven started to cry. Connie and the others hugged him tight, trying to calm him down... Steven... She loved you... To be honest, it was pretty obvious. But we didn't tell you... We thought she'd tell you on her own, or you'd find out by something else... It's time to show you love her just as much as she does. They told him.

Steven wiped his tears away, but they just kept on coming... He removed the gem from the necklace and held it close. Spinel... I... I hope you can hear me because... I... I love you... I-I... I want you to be happy... and safe all the time...! Even if it's n-not me who's m-m-making you h-happy...! Steven's tears started to flow faster as he gently kissed Spinel's gem, showing how much he loved her...

Then, Spinel's gem glowed... it floated right out of Steven's arms to get room to reform. When she did, her form looked more... Sporty rather than silly. She still has pigtails in her hair, but her gem was covered with light-pink overalls, wearing a dark-pink, sleeveless turtle-neck, and some sneakers, and her gloves were finger-less gloves. ...I love you too... She said to him, smiling a true smile she hasn't done in a long while...

By that time, Citrine has come back from the balcony... ...What...is...THE MEANING OF THIS?! She yelled. That's when the others attacked... But, knowing that Citrine could easily poof Spinel, and all the chaos Citrine caused still existed... Citrine was basically unbeatable... She poofed the other gems, bubbled them... and had both Steven and Connie, knocked out cold once again...

It was just her and Spinel now... Why are you doing this?! What did I ever do to you?! Spinel asked. Oh, you did nothing~ I just wanted you to witness everything you loved die. Including that Steven boy... You knew he didn't love you at first... now he does? Really? After seeing your gem in a necklace? Wow... "So romantic"... That last part was sarcasm. She said.

At this point... Spinel couldn't take it. She knew Citrine was trying to trick her so she'd poof again... she wouldn't go through it again... Not while she could handle it. The fight between the two was hard, but in the end... Spinel was victorious... But, much like Steven did for Spinel back then, when they first met... She didn't poof Citrine. Instead, she offered Citrine a hand... All Citrine could do at this point, knowing Spinel was being merciful after everything she put her through... could cry...

Spinel: What's done~...
Citrine: You've seen what I've done~...!

Spinel: is done~...
Citrine: How can you forgive~...?

Spinel: But you're here to fight for good~...
Citrine: Some gem, much like me, doesn't deserve your mercy~...

Spinel: I can sense~...
Citrine: I am so afraid~...

Spinel: In you a chance~...
Citrine: That I can't ever change~...

Spinel: You can rise above these feelings~

You can win~

And we all make big mistakes~

But we triumph in the end~

Because love and friendship is stronger than the trials we will face~

Citrine: it's not too late~

...Citrine felt... happy... But, she couldn't feel happiness at all anymore... due to that, she... poofed herself... ...Citrine... Maybe... One day... You'll tell us your story... and we'll know what went wrong and try to make it right for you... Spinel said as she grabbed Citrine's gem and bubbled it... but, if you ever reform again, smiling and all... Keep that smile from now on, okay...? she then sent the bubble off to Homeworld... or, at-least that's what she thought. It actually showed up near Steven. Uh... Spinel?

U-Uh...! Can someone send it off for me please? Spinel asked. Of course. Pearl sent the bubble off to homeworld and the group headed out to try and fix the chaos Citrine caused. Though, I don't get one thing. Why did the bubble go near Steven when Spinel tried to send off? Connie asked. Garnet and Pearl just smirked. Well, Connie, sometimes home doesn't have the be the place you live or something like that... It can be a feeling you feel with something you like... Or who you're with... Amethyst told her.

Connie turned to Steven and Spinel, laughing together and smiling. She smiled... Heh, Guess we're gonna need to prepare Steven's stuff next time he visits the diamonds, am I right?

Indeed, she was...
