the boy next door

C h a p t e r 10

I woke up in the morning wrapped in Quintons arms. I stayed in the same position and went on my phone. While scrolling through Instagram, I got a text from Byrce saying there was a party at sway and Quinton and I should come. I lightly shook him to wake him up.

"morning" I say playing with his hair

"gooood morning" he says in a raspy tone

"Bryce invited us to go to sway tonight for a party"

"I'm down" 

"ok cool, lets leave in an hour and we can be there early"

"ok" he replies as I stand up 

I went back to my house and picked out an outfit.

I did light makeup and straighten my hair. I went outside and waited in my car for Quinton. I wasn't so sure about going to this party because of what happened last time, but you only live once. Quinton hopped in the car and plugged his phone in the speaker. We zoned out to music for the entire ride until we arrived at sway. Before we got out of the car he looks and me and says

"don't do anything stupid"

"same goes for you" I say while smirking

I was greeted at the door by Nessa, mads, Addison, Charlie, Avani, and dixie. Quinton and I went out separate ways as I followed Nessa up to her room. The rest of the girls continued getting ready while responded to some fan dm's. We all talked about our relationships and school plans. After about an hour, people started to show up for the party. I went downstairs to try and find Quinton, but i ended up running into Bryce. He was holding a camera in my face filming a youtube video.

"yo aves, shotgun with me" he shouted while tossing me a whiteclaw. I wasn't planning on drinking too much because of what I did last time, but I couldn't deny this challenge. 

"Ready set go!"

After 5 seconds I throw my can on the ground
"Eat shit Bryce" I shout going to get another drink

It really only ended up going south from there. I was shotgunning with random people getting more and more drunk by the minute. I was wondering around the house when I found jaden. 

"hiii jadddennnn" I slur and I fall into his arms

"Avery come on man!" he said rolling his eyes at how drunk I was

He pulled me upstairs and put me in his bed. I started to doze off and woke up 20 minutes later. I was now in someone's shirt which I was assuming was jadens. I was still pretty drunk when I cuddled up next to him. I got the same butterfly in my stomach that I got when I was with him during the movie. 

"hey don't do anything you'll regret since your with Quinton" 

I didn't say anything at all. I just looked into his beautiful eyes and stared. I put my head on his chest and he put his arm around me. I felt safe with him. I felt happy. I sat up to drink some water and leaned back down towards him. I slowly brought my face closer to his and gave him a gentle peck on the lips. He smiled and continued to cuddle me as I fell asleep. 

The next morning I woke up with a pounding headache. I went into the bathroom and grabbed Advil and a cup of water. Although my head hurt, I still had a smile on my face knowing I was cuddling jaden. He was so sweet and caring and didn't seem like he would ever cheat on me in the slightest. I went downstairs to see the rest of the guys hungover. Then I realized i forgot about someone.

"hey have any of you seen Quinton?" i ask 

"i saw him leave like an hour ago" Bryce said while holding his head

"yea i asked him where he was going, but he just walked out" josh added

"weird" i said grabbing an apple off the counter

I walked back up to jadens room and sat on the edge of the bed. 

              Quinton

You: where you headed off to this morning so early?

      read 10:15 am  

He read my message but didn't respond. Weird. My thoughts were interrupted by jaden hugging me from behind. 

"wanna do something today" he asks while attempting to braid my hair

"sure" i said with a smile

We ended up going roller skating and had a really fun time. I know I just got back with Quinton, but jaden makes me feel so safe and loved.

 ~ time skip ~

I got back to my house around 9:30 at night and changed into my pjs. I had texted Quinton multiple times throughout the day and didn't hear back from him. I looked over in his window and saw that he wasn't there. All of these thoughts came rushing into my head. That's when I started thinking... maybe Quinton is just the boy next door, and nothing else.
