Chapter 6: The Packing Begins

Competition is this weekend! Everyone is getting the finishing touches on their programs. Families are cleaning their houses and packing for the trip to Seattle. Ashlie is dreading it already because she knows what is going to happen. Sara will get first, Jen will get second, and then Ashlie place after them. no matter how good she skates, or how perfect her program was. She is prepared though! Ashlie trained for this competition by doing five clean programs everyday! Ashlie has a new competition dress too! She always loved going to competitions and always will.
:Ashlie's POV:
"Ashlie do you know where your hair clips are? I need to pack them" my mom shouts as she is packing all the hair things I need for competition.

"I don't know, I somehow always lose them! I think we need to go to the store before Friday."

"I buying one and only one more package of clips for you! We don't have a money tree!"

"Ok sorry! I'll set out all the tights I need to pack... and the dresses!" Ashlie says trying to help out.

"Once all your homework is done you can start packing."

Since Ashlie doesn't have much homework she finishes quickly. She loves packing, she always packs way more clothes than necessary. by the end of the night she crosses off almost everything on the packing list.

That nights as she is laying in bed Ashlie starts to visualize a perfect program. Her dad always tells her to do that and talk positive. She doesn't think it will do anything but she tries anyway. Her dad is a nutrition and fitness freak, according to Ashlie. He does know a lot though. Ashlie's dad always makes her take vitamins to stay healthy. She hates them but she doesn't want to get sick. Ashlie doesn't eat very healthy though. She hates fruits and vegetables. Ice cream and cookies are her favorite! It's a good thing skating burns so many calories because that's the only thing she does every single day all day. Her dad nailed her when she comes home and eats cookies for dinner. Ashlie has made a deal with herself, limit the sugar intake!!! At least she doesn't eat fast food very often. Ashlie does workout on the weekend. Mostly core and leg strengthening. Some balance things also. She likes weekends to be her rest days so she only does two hours of working out. Occasionally on nice days she goes for a jog. Her dad's job is landscaping, but he would make a good trainer or sports nutritionist. He always wants to go to competitions, but he makes Ashlie nervous.
