Chapter 3 - Hope
After meeting with the detective, Ivory decided to head to the hill as she does every day. It was the last place she saw her brother, and while she should be heading home to tell her mother the good news since it was one of the rare days where her mother was off from work. The hill was closer to where she was then her home was and she wanted to look around the hill again, missing a day looking around the hill just didn't feel right. Not when she has been doing it for months, not only that but sometimes at random her vigilante friend would show up at the hill unannounced when he was bored.
Besides, even if it has been months, Ivory had to be sure if there was any chance of any kind of evidence that could point her to wherever Izuku was, or actual physical evidence that he was alive would be nice so then she didn't feel like she was going crazy when she had no actual physical evidence that would lead her to believe that her brother had been kidnapped. Even though she was one hundred percent sure that her brother was still alive. It was only because she knew what kind of person her brother was, and having her idea actually being backed up would be nice cause then she could shove the fact that she was right into the faces of the people that had laughed at her.
So just like any other day, she spends hours not only searching the hill but the surrounding grassy empty fields and soon she would spend hours searching around the buildings she last saw her brother heading towards before he disappeared, weaving and waving through the crowds of people that kept the sidewalks around the buildings full and busy.
Ever since he disappeared, she has spent every day doing this. It didn't matter how long it took, she just knows she will find something that will somehow prove that her brother was kidnapped and not some quirkless kid that ran away for attention.
But no matter how many people she questioned that happened to be in the area and saw the hero-villain fight her brother was opposed to have head to. Nobody, absolutely nobody saw him that day, trying to get to the hero fight. Ivory knew that her and Izuku's appearance was pretty plain and forgettable compared to some people's appearances but someone had to have seen him.
"The only explanation would be if he was somehow taken as soon as he turned around the corner where he was out of mine and the bullies sight. So we wouldn't have seen anything but someone should have seen something. I mean, it's not like he just immediately fell into a portal as soon as he ran around the corner that somehow nobody else saw." Ivory mutters to herself the same explanation she came up with a few days after her brother disappeared. Hoping that one day she might be able to add more information once she finally came upon more information while she sat in front of the singular tree that sat on top of the hill with her arms crossed and her legs stretched out in front of. Displaying the perfect image of a moody teenager to any passerby. "Ugh, this is obviously the work of some stupid quirk. I really hate quirks right now."
The worst part about the whole situation, the last moments she spent with her brother before he went missing weren't even good memories she thought of fondly once she found him. Instead, they were memories that filled her with anger, all thanks to stupid Bakugo. Her brother's childhood best friend.
Ivory just rolls her eyes at the thought of him. If Ivory were to ever be asked if there was a person she could hate with every fiber in her bone, then the answer would most definitely be Bakugo.
And she could still remember her last moments with her brother like it was just yesterday.
But that didn't matter now, cause no matter how many times she replied though memories her head, remembering the weak smile her brother tried to give her as he coughed up blood before her head got slammed against the ground and all she could hear was Bakugo's crackling and the sound of leaves being crushed under Izuku's footsteps as he walks away and into town, where the smoke had been coming from.
