That's How I Wanna Wake Up

Y/N's POV:

I woke up a little bit early this morning, smiling as I saw Nico clinging on to me, his head resting on my chest.

I couldn't help but admire my boyfriend. His hair was a mess but it was still kind of adorable and he looked like he was sleeping peacefully.

After a few minutes I carefully set him down on the bed and got up, trying to avoid waking him up. I got dressed into decent clothes and walked out to the common area. It was a little too early for anyone to be awake yet, so none of the magic plates that gave us whatever we wanted were out. Instead I found a few ingredients for breakfast and started making them for myself, before making another batch for Nico and making a coffee as well.

"Good morning, Y/N!", a voice greeted from behind me, "You're up a little early".

I looked up, seeing it was Chiron and said, "Good morning, I'm just making breakfast for Nico and I".

He looked at me for a second, trying to make sense of what I was saying, "Are the two of you... sleeping together?"

He looked a little concerned when I nodded.

Oh. That kind of sleeping!

"Uh! No! I meant sleeping, sleeping! Not that kind of sleeping", I stuttered, my face turning bright red. I mean, Nico and I haven't really done anything.

"Alright", he sighed, "I'm not going to stop you two from sleeping, I trust you. And I don't know Nico much but I doubt he'd have... intercourse with you yet either. So... no sex in the cabins. Not for a couple years at least, if ever. And only when no one else is around. I don't kn-"

I cut him off, saving both of us from having to endure this awkward topic, "We know, I'll head back now, bye Chiron!"

He smiled warmly as I walked away.

That was way too awkward!

I opened the Hades cabin door quietly and put the tray of breakfast on Nico's bedside table.

"Mmm", Nico groaned, moving around slightly.

I leaned down and kissed him, causing him to open his eyes.

He eagerly kissed back before breaking away and saying, "Now that's how I wanna wake up every morning".

I grinned, picking up the tray full of breakfast and handing it to him.

"There's no way I'm going to be able to eat all this", he chuckled.

I sat down next to him, "Don't worry, this is for both of us".

He smiled warmly and we enjoyed each other's company while eating breakfast together before getting dressed and going towards the arena.

While Nico is often free to do whatever he wants around the camp, I'm in the arena most of the time, helping to train demigods to defend themselves better.

"Do you mind if I join too?", Nico asked as I got a group of kids from ten to twelve years old to get into a battle stance they were comfortable with.

I nodded, smiling as he sat to watch, "Of course you can".

"Erin, Blake and Pete", I called out, "To test what you all learned last week, I'm going to give you thirty seconds to plan how to take me down, use everything you've learned to win".

"Only thirty seconds?", Pete asked, a short kid who would argue monsters to the death if he could.

"That's unfair!", Erin complained, putting her brown hair in a bun to stop it from getting in her eyes during the fight, "Can we have a minute?"

I laughed as the three kids tried puppy dog eyes on me, "No way, if you three were ambushed by a cyclops, he isn't going to give you a minute, he won't even give you thirty seconds to plan, you have to think fast. I'm giving you thirty seconds now, but over the next few weeks, I'll be getting you to fight me without any time to plan!"

They sighed before huddling together and whispering a plan, Blake shifting his weight from one foot to another, twirling his sword to get used to the weight.

"Time's up!", I called out, standing in the middle of the arena with the three kids while Nico and the rest of the group walked to the sides to avoid getting in the way of the battle.

Erin and Pete ran around me to take their places while Blake stayed in my field of vision, effectively surrounding me. They were all about twenty metres away, but with Blake in front of me, Pete somewhere to my left and Erin to my right, just out of sight, I had to keep turning to avoid getting stabbed in the back.

Blake cautiously walked forward a couple metres, I could hear Pete rushing up to my left, only a couple metres away.

I quickly turned, deflecting a surprise attack from Erin with her daggers, she had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, she's probably the stealthiest demigod I've ever met. Aside from Nico, who literally appears from the shadows.

I stepped backwards and got low to the ground, sweeping Pete's legs from under him as he went to strike me.

Blake continued closing the distance between the two of us as I fended off Erin's quick attacks and trying to avoid hurting her. I hit the flat of my blade against her left arm, causing her to drop a dagger, which I quickly kicked away before jumping over a lunge from Pete, who'd managed to get off the floor faster than I'd thought he would.

I've trained these kids too well.

I dodged a swipe from Erin with her other dagger, grabbing her arm and swinging her into Pete, distracting them both as I charged at Blake.

We were under five metres apart when I stopped without warning and threw my sword up in the air, causing Blake to freeze, confused.

And then I swept his legs from under him with a sweeping kick before catching and raising my sword to his throat, "You'd be dead", I told him, signalling that he was now out.

One down, two to go.

Erin and Pete circled around me at opposite sides, I had to get them in each other's way.

I quickly charged at Erin, she went to lunge at me with her dagger, I dodged underneath it, grabbing her arm and resting my sword a centimetre from her head, "You'd be dead now too", I said, before turning quickly to Pete, wanting to avoid him surprising me while I was occupied with Erin.

"If a small weapon is all you have, don't leave yourself open to being grabbed, it'll be easier to disarm you", I advised her, slowly advancing towards Pete.

He charged me, but it was clearly half-hearted. He wasn't going to go for a full on attack, he was clearly going to turn away last second and try to attack me from the side. As he charged, I spun my blade in a circle casually, waiting for him to get close before bringing the flat of my blade down on his good arm as he tried to dodge to my right.

I raised my sword to his throat as he fell to the ground, his arm in temporary pain from the flat of my blade.

"You were way too obvious about what you were going to do", I told him, but it's a decent strategy if done right", I told him, before approaching the group and getting them to pair up, "I want you all to group up revise each team position we've learned so far".

I looked at Nico, "Would you be able to help supervise these kids and make sure they don't do anything too stupid?", I asked.

"Sure", he smiled brightly, walking off to watch a group that was already starting to argue.

This probably won't be going too much further, there isn't any solid plot going further.
