~POV - Gray~

We were all settled down on a velvet red couch that had gold lining. It looks like we were in a living room. The tall butler asked us for any drinks before leaving the room to fetch his master. We then waited for a moment and I found myself admiring the room.

The walls were a bright and subtle yellow, while most pieces of furniture in the room were matching. There were two long couches (which we sat upon) and one lonely arm chair next to them, all with velvet cushions and gold lining. The two couches and one armchair formed half a circle and they gathered around a short table. Everything rested on a red carpet. There was an unlit fireplace at the open end of the half-circle. Hanging above the fireplace was a large painting held in a golden and decorative picture frame. The painting was of a man in a black suit. He wore a serious face. He had blue eyes, big bushy eyebrows, and he had wrinkles all over his face. His head had some brown hair on the sides but the top was completely bald.

Everyone’s attention later turned to the door as it opened. A short man entered. He had blonde hair covering his head, brown eyes, and he looked around thirty years old. He was wearing a black suit identical to the one in the painting, but in a smaller size.

At the same moment he entered, Natsu rested back in the chair, hands behind head, and put his feet up on the table. Lisanna quickly nudged him on the arm and he sat back up while his feet dropped down. Idiot.

The short man settled down on the now-not-so-lonely armchair and examined our faces.

“My maid told me you’re all wizards of Fairy Tail, coming about the job request I put up a week ago, correct?” he asked.

We all nodded.

“Hmm, I see. Well, my name is Warren Carrinow, the current owner of this mansion. I acquired it after my father passed away.” he then nodded towards the painting.

‘WHAT?!’ I thought. ‘THAT GUY IS HIS FATHER? THEY LOOK NOTHING ALIKE!’ I almost said out loud. ‘His mom’s got some explaining to do..’ I turned back to look at Warren.

“If you have read my request thoroughly, then you do know that there happens to be a rather mischievous crew roaming around Backton View.” he continued. “They stole some precious items of mine. On your way to this room, you may have noticed a lot of items encased in glass put on display?”

He was right. The moment we entered the mansion, aligned on the walls were wooden stand holding up a glass box. In each box, there was an item in it. These wooden stands were everywhere next to every wall, like as if you’re walking through a museum.

“I have a hobby. I like to collect ancient and rare items. Especially those with beauty. One day, I returned from work back to this mansion just to find two people heading for the door. In one of their hand’s, there was my most prized possession. I am sure they would’ve continued collecting my other items but they left once they noticed I came back.” he was about to continue when Natsu interrupted.
