So I was having a conversation with luvbug_26 in my The 100 Season 7 Reactions (shameless self plug I know) and it got me thinking. When did I start watching a lot of the shows I love today, and when did YOU start watching them.
Teen Wolf - the penultimate (second to last) episode of 3A. I was at a friends for a sleepover and she was watching it, so I started to as well. The next week I was going on vacation, so I DVR'd the season finale and fell in love from there.
The 100 - midway through season 5. I was on YouTube and a "the story of Bellarke" video was recommended to me. I watched it and fell down a rabbit hole from there. Little did I know how much the show would resonate with me.
Arrow - season 3. My dad had started watching season 1 when it premiered. We both love comics (he got me into them) and suggested I start watching. I actually started watching it at the same time as the Flash.
The Flash - season 2. Again, my dad had started from season 1 and highly suggested I watch it.
Criminal Minds - season 13 or 14. I'm not quite sure because my mom was watching it on TV one day, and I watched with her. Now 2 or 3 different stations play Criminal Minds, on my cable provider. So I would get one season on Monday/Tuesday, another season on Wednesday/Thursday, and another season on Saturday. So I got caught up pretty quickly. Criminal Minds also started in 2005 and I was 5, so I didn't exactly have the mental capacity to understand it.
Stranger Things - ok so I started this right before season 3 aired. I technically don't have Netflix. One of my best friends let's me use hers and I only cracked and started using it just over a year ago (today is June 18, 2020). So right before season 3 was gonna air, 2 other friends asked if I wanted to come over for July 4th and watch season 3 together. I said yes and had to binge the first 2 seasons. 4th of July was a Thursday last year. I started season 1 on Sunday (only watched 2 episodes cause I had other plans), finished season 1 on Monday, and watch ALL of season 2 on Tuesday. Started season 3 when it aired on the 4th and finished it on the 5th.
Game of Thrones - I'm actually not quite sure when I started this. Somewhere between seasons 6 and 7 and think. I think I was on YouTube and saw fan edits or even here on Wattpad and wanted to see the hype and fell in love from there.
NCIS - I honestly have no idea when I started this. Again, it was with my mom and just watching any episode that was on. To this day, my mom DVRs the episodes and waits to watch them until I come home from college and we binge the season.
NCIS: LA and NCIS: NO - probably season 2 for both of them. Off shots from one of my fav shows but I wasn't sure at first so I waited.
TVD/TO/Legacies - so I've seen videos for years on YouTube and Instagram and finally cracked. I watched the first 4 seasons of TVD in 3 day, and finished the test in about a week and a half. TO took me a total of about 10 days to watch. And I'm still getting caught up on Legacies.
What's even funnier is that the way I got caught up on ALL of these shows was HERE. Wattpad got me caught up and brought me so many friends through all these fandoms. And from those people I found OTHER fandoms and expanded my palate with TV.
There are some shows i started from season 1, though and they are the following:
Supergirl - still watch it and love it
Riverdale - season 2 was the best season in my opinion. It went downhill from there. I've only watched sporatice episodes from the last 2 season and will probably only check and episode or two for the time jump that supposed to happen in season 5.
Agents of SHIELD - started with my family from episode 1. Unfortunately I no longer watch it. We had a season and a half on the DVR and then it fritzed and we lost all the recordings. At that point, it was too much to try and catch up.
This doesn't sound cartoons cause I honestly can't remember most of them. The ones I love the most, I watch as a young child.
So let me know when you started these shows, if you have. And any recommendations are welcome. No promises on how fast I get to them, I am working a full time internship this summer and will be back to full time architecture student come fall.
