3rd person POV
-"Do you think you can stand?" Aaron asked Ezra as he sat at the foot of her bed in the packed infirmary.
-" Its worth a shot" Ezra told him as she moved the blanket off her feet. Once her feet hit the ground her father Apollo flashed into the infirmary and sat her back down while saying no no no no no.
-" You still need to rest. Your muscles are still not at full strength as you wore them out almost to the breaking point" he said, not paying attention to all of the people around him staring.
-" Well, if I stay sitting here any longer, I am going to become a statue, come on! I need to stretch them out" she said.
-" Exactly, she could stretch out with supervision?" he asked the god of healing as he stared at his daughter.
-" Can we talk outside?" Apollo asked Aaron. With a nod, they left the room.
----------------------------------------
-" She needs to be in fighting shape if the prophecy is true" Aaron said, Apollo didn't meet his stare. " That means, not having just come out of the infirmary having sat down still for a few days without moving whatsoever".
-" Fine, I'll let her leave the infirmary under the condition that she will be monitored until she reaches full strength, preferably by you or one of the others in the prophecy" Apollo told him. Aaron nodded once again.
-" Yes sir, can she-"
-"Yes, but start off slow. It's pretty rare for one of my children to be born with Photokinesis" he said with a smile on his face.
-" Please elaborate" Aaron said.
-" Right, Photokinesis is the ability to control light, I believe you have seen it. In her case, she controls sunlight and is able to use it to create forcefields, beams or just a powerful aura that can blind enemies" he said, Aaron smiled.
-" I have seen her use that one on a few Ares kids, they came out blinded and with second- degree burns" Aaron said as he saw Apollo smile.
-" That might be a side effect" Apollo responded as he looked in to the infirmary to see 6 campers wrapped in extensive casts.
-" If it was harnessing sunlight, then how was she able to".
-"That is a big misconception. The sun is always shinning somewhere and I believe that she can harness its energy anytime, underground? Thats another story completely, its really fascinating thinking about what extent can a demigod like her take herself to with a specific power source at her disposal" Apollo said.
-" Especially if the power source is thousands of years old" Aaron said.
-" Especially if the power source is thousands of years old" Apollo repeated, smiling at the kid. "I will come back in a week to see how she is recovering, maybe teach her some useful things about using that ability, I need you to note that an ability like that is extremely dangerous and we need to make sure she knows how to control it" he said and with a nod, the god disappeared in a flash of light leaving Aaron to contemplate how to tell his friend about their upcoming future.
--------------------------
-" You alright?" Annabeth asked Marie as she stood by the doorframe of the Athena cabin, her siblings nowhere to be seen.
-" Im fine, sorry if I walked off its just a lot to take in" Annabeth didn't respond and sat at her sister's side " We all know our days are counted, limited, someday, they'll end. But being told that you're bound to die and there is no way to reverse it I... it makes me feel like a failure because there are so many things I want to do that I'll never get the chance" she said. Annabeth gave her sister a hug.
-" Like what?" She asked.
-" I can still finish school, go to college, do something remarkable, leave my mark, fall in love, have real friends, grow old and see the world in a way that I never could have imagined, but now... now those dreams are falling apart, the hope is being sucked out of me and I can't do anything about it, just sit and watch as the pain in my chest grows stronger and the voice in my head asks me why are you still here?" she said, the tears flowing down her cheeks.
-" You were right, about what you said earlier. I don't know what you're going through, but I do know what if feels like to know that you are about to die. I still have nightmares about how I just tried to survive down there. I had Percy, my boyfriend at the time, a guy who I trusted, who I loved and who I knew for years, but you? You only have a group of people that you don't know and Im sorry" Annabeth said as she wiped her sister's tears from her cheeks.
-" You don't have to be sorry" Marie said as she held her sister's hand.
-" But I am, I am sorry you might never graduate school, I am sorry you might never go to college, I am sorry you might not get to fall in love, I am sorry that you might never get to see yourself grow old. But you know what, some things that you said you might never get to do, you can do right now. You can do something remarkable on this quest, you can still leave your mark and you are doing it with every action that you are and will do. You are now seeing the world in a different perspective, maybe not in the way you hoped, but you are. Finally, there are 4 other people going on this quest with you, I have learned that you make friends in the weirdest places, through the weirdest circumstances, find a chance were you might get to bond with these people, and if you know you are about to die, just know that you have done everything you could and wanted in the time you got" Annabeth said as her sister smiled.
-" Thank you Annabeth" Marie told her sister as she hugged her tightly.
-" No need to thank me Marie" Annabeth said " I am just doing my job" Marie looked at her confused.
-"Your job?" Marie asked.
-" As your older sister" Annabeth said and the two laughed as they did something they both liked to do, plan for the unpredictable future.
