Spencer had fallen asleep during the movies last night. Or this morning. He turned to em during the fourth or fifth film and said, "These are boring. And I'm tried. I'm going to sleep." I nodded my head and didn't argue; having him asleep would work out better for me if he was bored.

I moved slightly on my bed, giving him more room to lay down. As soon as I did so, he moved his head onto my stomach and his legs dangling across the bed. I continued to watch the film with the other two, ignoring the weight on my stomach.

He didn't fall asleep straight away like I thought he would. It was around ten minutes of silence other than the film dialogue before I knew that he was still awake. Spencer's eyes were still closed, but he was aware of what he was doing and moved his hand to find mine and placed it on his head.

My eyebrows scrunched together as I stared down at him, his eyes closed and his breathing calming now. He was falling asleep, but I didn't know what to do with my hand. I felt that if I moved it, he would wake up, but I felt awkward to just have it placed their unmoving.

I watched the rest of the movie whilst playing with his hair till I fell asleep. We didn't finish the series, but I knew Blair wouldn't let us leave without watching them all, so she didn't mind falling asleep after the fifth film.

When I woke up an hour later, Spencer was gone. He wasn't in the room, it was still dark outside, and Brodie and Blair were still asleep.

Without wanting to wake them, I slowly stood up from my bed, trying not to make any noise in doing so, and left the room as quickly and quietly as possible. Neither of them knew I had left, and I let out a relieved sigh before remembering I left to find Spencer who could be anywhere right now.

He probably got a call or message from his dad whilst we were sleeping and left to answer in the hallway where he was then told to come home. That was probably what had happened and I was worried for nothing.

But what if something happened to him on the way home and he needed help. Or maybe he had just gone outside for some fresh air and that is where I would find him when I opened the doors.

A hundred other ideas cams popping into my mind about what could have happened to him, what he could be doing right now, making me unconsciously speed up. I only noticed when I was running down the stairs and had to suddenly hold the banister to stop me from falling down the last few steps.

I pushed the doors open forcefully, ignoring the students that were sleeping in their dorms.

He wasn't outside of the buildings, and he wasn't behind them either as I looked everywhere. There wasn't even a sound outside other than the small wind pushing the leaves together.

The touch light from my phone was the only thing stopping me from tripping over any rocks or branches scattered across the ground as I walked through the trees. Fear crept over me as twigs broke under my feet and the shadows hid everything. I couldn't see anything that was around me except for small area of land in front of me and the few trees by my side.

I was moving towards the alley before I even knew what I was doing, letting instinct take over and lead me to wherever Spencer hopefully was. I turned the torch off on my phone as I neared the street lights on the other side of the alley, using it to call Spencer only to get no answer. My eyes stared down at the screen, looking at the call declined text before ringing him again. He didn't answer, and I started walking again.

Very few people were out at this time, all though I wasn't expecting to see anyone anyway. They must have an early start at work, or they're making their way home after a late night with friends. I kept thinking about what could have been going on these people's lives to keep my mind focused, to stop me from worrying like I already was.

......

"I need to go back," a strained voice said. The suddenness off it made me jump and suck in a deep breath of air so that they couldn't hear me. I knew the voice, but I didn't know who he was speaking to.

My legs moved and I started walking towards the wall so that I could hear better. I pushed my body flat against it, hiding from the two people just around the corner.

"You don't need to anything right now," the other man growled. "How long have you been there? Two months? Yeh, two months."

"There abouts. What are you getting at?"

"You've been there for two months and you haven't come back with anything, that's what I'm getting at. You said you could do this. We knew you could do this. But you haven't done anything."

"It's easier said than done. I need to do more than just be in a group of friends, all right? I'm doing the best I can."

"No. What you're doing is playing around and laughing with people you hardly even know. Who don't know you. That's not what you're there for. You were told to do something, you had one job, and you can't even do that right. What's your father going to say when you get back, huh, kid?"

"I don't care what he says. He knows I'll get it done, and I will get it done, we've just had a minor step back."

"Because of your new friends? Or because of that girl?"

Was he talking about us? We're we interrupting something in his fathers business? I was confused of what they were talking about, and zoned out for another section of their conversation.

"Don't you dare bring her into this," Spencer hissed. "She has nothing to do with it and will not be brought into this because you want to hurt me or get me to do something. I will do it. And I will do it with her being safe."

"If I didn't know you any better, kid, I'd say you were in love with her. You aren't there to make friends and fall in love - if you're even capable of that shit. You're there-"

"I know why I'm there."

"You're there because your father needs you there. You're there for the sake of business, nothing more than that."

"Believe me, I know. I gotta go," Spencer mumbled the last part.

"Kid," the guy said in a more soothing tone, "I don't want it to sound like I'm lecturing you. I like you, I do, but you've been there for two months and you still haven't come back with anything."

"I know. I'll get something soon. The funerals on Friday, okay. I'll get something after that."
