°•Getting Ready•°

As Tanjiro pulls him closer his heart beats faster. He'd never really felt this way towards a boy. He'd be really felt like this for anyone really. He only ever thought of it as something that best friends do. He liked this. No, he loved this. As Zenitsu was about to speak the heard a knock at the door.

"I'll get it."

"Sure."

Zenitsu stands up and opens the door. He finds Uzui standing at the door.

"Oh, good morning Uzui!"

"Morning Zenitsu! Morning Tanjiro! I came by to check up on you guys. Oh and I got some news too!"

"Oh really? Come in Uzui!"

"Thanks Zenitsu."

Zenitsu and Uzui sit down.

"We're sending you two on a mission later today! We do have something ready for poor Zenitsu too. We finished the basket you asked for Tanjiro! It's a bit bigger than the box you have for Nezuko and will be a bit heavier but I think you can handle it! I'm sorry that it you have to go on a mission so soon you two but we still have to send you guys out."

"Thanks Uzui! I owe you one!"

"Nah it's fine! Anything to help!"

"Wasn't that you were talking about earlier?"

"Yep! We still have to go on missions we just have to have precautions."

"So I'm a liability?"

"Yep, but not for me! I know how to handle this thanks to Nezuko!"

"Well I'll make you a great deal!"

"Hmm? What deal?"

"Well because I can't shrink like Nezuko and I'm a bit heavier let me know when it's dark and I'll walk."

"If that's what you want, sure!"

"Thank you Uzui and Tanjiro for all the help! I don't know what I'd do if you guys weren't there!"

"Thanks Zenitsu! I'll be off! I have to do my job too! I'll see you guys later!"

Uzui stands up and walks away leaving the two to think.

"I'm not sure if I'm ready for this. I just got turned into a demon! Wh-what if I burn up!"

"You'll be fine! They're probably going to send us near noon! The village we're going to is only around about 3 hours away! We should be fine! Also I'll make sure you won't even see the sunlight! I promise!"

"Fine! You better keep to your promise though!"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"Okay okay, we should probably get dressed. Ill see you in a few minutes!"

"Sure thing! I'll see you in a few Zen!"

"Zen"... He liked his new nickname. It was cute.

As Tanjiro stood up and left Zenitsu quickly changed into his uniform and put on his favourite haori.

"Knock knock!"

"Zen? Come in!"

As Zenitsu walked in he found Tanjiro straightening his haori.

"Should we go visit Inosuke and Nezuko before we go?"

"Good idea! Come on let's go!"

As Tanjiro grabbed Zenitsu's small wrist, he rushed down the halls just to get to Nezuko's room.

"Nezuko? Wakey wakey!"

"Nezuko-chaaan!"

They walked in as Nezuko crawled out of her little box.

"Tanjiro, why is she looking at me differently?"

"Maybe because your a demon? Or your not chasing and bothering her."

"Hey!"

As the two bickered Nezuko ran up to Tanjiro and gave him a big hug.

"Well good morning to you too!"

"I want a hug too..."

"Sure!"

Tanjiro stood up and latched on to Zenitsu with no hesitation. It was like he didn't want the chance for him to say no.

"Thank you Tanji."

"Anything for you Zen."

As Tanjiro turned around to talk to Nezuko, Zenitsu stood by the door and waited.

"Hey Nezuko, me and Zenitsu are going on a mission later today and I won't be able to take you with me. Sorry about that. But you can play with Muichiro and Shinobu okay?"

Nezuko nodded her head as Tanjiro gave her one final hug. As Tanjiro and Zenitsu left they waved to the small girl and walked away.

"Do you know where Inosuke is Tanjiro?"

"Probably outside smashing his head on a rock or tree. When I went to get him earlier today I found him trying to fight a bird."

"Honestly I'm not surprised. It sounds like him."

"I'll go check outside can you wait here for me please?"

"Sure thing! Just don't take to long. I hate being lonely."

"Sure sure! See you soon."

As Tanjiro when outside Zenitsu sat down and was left alone to think.

"I owe him one, big time. He's been so nice and calm through all of this even though he told me he was freaking out. How does he do it? How can he keep it all in like that? All I do is cry when I'm sad... That takes some strength I'll admit that. I wonder if he's found Inosuke yet..."

〚❀With Inosuke And Tanjiro❀〛

"Inosuke! Inosuke! Where are you???"

As Tanjiro was walking down the bamboo fence he found Inosuke sharpening his swords with a rock.

"Hello Inosuke!"

"Hmm? Gonpachiro what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be with your boyfriend Monitsu?"

"Wha- No! His name is Zenitsu!"

"Sure sure. But he is your boyfriend."

"No he's not! He likes Nezuko!"

Saying those words hurt Tanjiro a bit. He didn't know why but they did. He's too blind to notice his feelings.

"Yah yah whatever! Why are you here??? Are you here to fight me!?"

Inosuke stood up with a smile and put on his boar mask.

"Actually no. I need you to come inside again just for a second since Zenitsu can't come outside right now."

"Fineeeeeee I don't wanna though but I guess I will."

"Thank you. The faster the better. Poor Zenitsu's been left alone for a while now."

"I get that you want to see your boyfriend but can you chill?"

"He's. Not. My. Boyfriend!"

"Whatever you say."
