Unusual Fish (ObserverXNoah) (TT) (AU)

Noah woke up early in the morning and he did his morning routine, get up and eat, take a shower then cover his burn scars with makeup making his scars blend in with his skin. After he got dressed for the day he decided he was going to take a walk near a lake that just reopened a few weeks ago, he grabbed his keys and his essentials and headed out to his car, he pulled up the location on his phone and saw that it was quite far, at least an hour away from his house. Noah sighed and began driving to the lake, after that hour of driving and jamming out to his favorite band he parked in a parking spot and got out. Noah then began walking down the trail next to the lake enjoying the peaceful area, as he was walking he heard another person talking but he didn't see anybody around, plus it was super early and no one was normally out around this time, Noah just shrugged it off and kept walking until he reached a bridge that crossed over a little river connecting to the lake, he looked at the bridge and saw that it seemed a little unstable. He looked for another way over the river but there was no other way so Noah carefully stepped onto the bridge and began slowly walking along it, then there was a loud splash and Noah looked towards the sound and he saw a large fish like tail, he tilted his head and walked over to the rail and leaned against it to try and get a better view. The railing then broke beneath Noah and he fell into the river, being quickly dragged into the lake by the current, Noah tried to stay afloat but he couldn't swim and he sunk under the murky water. Noah held his breath in order to swim back up to the surface but he just couldn't, just before Noah blacked out from lack of oxygen he felt something grip onto his arms and pull him. After coming too Noah opened his eyes and saw a completely black creature with what seemed to be white glasses looming over him, Noah blinked a bit and gasped backing away from the creature, the creature then jumped back into the water and poked it's head slightly out of the water, "What the fuck?!" Noah shouted and then looked back at the creature, "What are you?!" He asked in a confused tone, "What are you?" The creature responded with a curious tone, Noah furrowed his eyebrows and squinted, "I asked you first!" he said and the creature chuckled slightly, "I'm a merman! My name's Observer, What are you?" "You're a merman?! Those exist?!" Noah asked now freaked out more, Observer nodded and stuck his tail out of the water and waved it around and Noah tilted his head, "I'm either dead or dreaming," he said and Observer splashed him with some water, "You're not dead, I saved you and I don't think this is a dream and if it is then I don't want to wake up," he said and smiled slightly at him, Noah looked at Observers sharp teeth and chuckled nervously he then fell over and passed out again. Observer frowned and pulled himself onto the shore and shook Noah softly, "Well I'm gonna assume he's a human, they always seem to do this," Observer sighed, "He does look very familiar though, almost like, Firebrand..." Observer trailed off and then looked at the smeared makeup on Noah's hand, he wiped it away and saw the burn scars, he gasped and covered his mouth, "Is.. No, there's no way, unless Firebrand was right.." Observer then heard foot steps and saw a man walk into view, he then hopped back into the water and watched as the man freaked out and picked Noah up and quickly carry him away. When Noah woke up in a hospital bed he looked around to see he was in a hospital room and he saw Milo sitting next to his bed, "Milo?" He asked softly, Milo's head shot up, "Noah! Thank god you're okay, I thought you died! What the hell were you doing at the lake?! What happened!" Noah shook his head, "I was just walking and I fell off a broken bridge and.. Someone saved me, I think?" He said and Milo then hugged him, "Well thank god I was there in time," "Yeah, thank you Milo, I'd probably die if it weren't for you," Noah said and hugged him back, Milo laughed "As normal," Noah chuckled and nodded. After a few hours the doctors let Noah go and Milo brought him back home and went home, Noah made dinner and seemed to just forget everything that happened at the lake until he went to bed. After he got comfortable and started drifting to sleep he remembered Observer then he shot back up, "I need to do some research on this," he said and jumped out of bed. Just around midnight Noah decided he was going to go back to the lake and talk to Observer about it some more, he rushed to his car and got in it, driving that hour back to the lake. As soon as he parked he got out and rushed back to the edge of the lake and called out for Observer, eventually Observer peeked out through the water and looked up at Noah, "Wha? What are you doing here?" he asked, "I came back to talk to you, I want to know more about you!" Noah said and Observer smiled but then frowned, "I can't right now, I'm in big trouble as it is," Noah tilted his head, "What? By who?" Observer shook his head, "The Administrator, he's finally caught up to me and he's trying to catch me," Noah frowned then got an idea, "Stay hidden I'll be right back," he said as he rushed off. Noah then came back with a big cooler and scooped some water from the lake into it, "Get in the cooler," he said, Observer looked at him with confusion, "What the hell are you thinking?" He asked, "I'll take you back to my house and you could live in my pool," Noah said, Observer then thought about it for a moment and smiled, "Alright, sounds like a plan," he said and climbed into the cooler. Noah then took Observer back to the car and brought him back to his house, then let him climb into the pool as he drained the lake water out into the yard. After that night Noah and Observer grew to become friends and they told each other everything, the only the that was a problem was that Noah had to hide Observer from Milo and his friend Kevin but other than that they became really close. One day Noah was laying on a floaty floating around in the water and he was talking with Observer, "So Observer, it's been about a few months now, mind telling me who the Administrator is?" He asked and Observer sighed, "You're so stubborn, do you really want to know?" Noah nodded, "Fine, The Administrator is a huge black and white squid that was in control of The Collective, which was a group of merpeople including me, I was one of The Administrators favorites, but I quickly became a problem when I began helping Firebrand, who was first to leave the group and betrayed us, then it was Mr. Scars and then me." Observer explained, "Unfortunately, Firebrand died sacrificing himself to keep me and Mr. Scars safe, so me and Mr. Scars have been on our own, separately of course, he blames me for Firebrands death.." tears filled his eyes, Noah then frowned and held Observers hand, "It's okay, you don't have to explain anymore," he said, Observer sighed and wiped his tears away, "Thank you so much Noah.." he said then smiled at him, "You know, Firebrand had a theory that there were humans on the surface who looked just like us, or at least similar, he also thought that if we were to die, we'd become those humans, or vice versa," he said, "How did you get those burns anyway?" "I got them from a house fire I got caught in.." Noah said, "My aunt started the fire trying to kill me from what I remember," Observer nodded, "Firebrands 'aunt' did the same to him, she tried to sacrifice him to some humans above the surface and they roasted him until Mr. Scars saved him," Noah nodded, "Huh, there seems to be a lot of ties between us," Noah said and Observer nodded and laid his head on Noah's stomach, "Noah, you won't leave me right?" Noah then softly petted his head, "No, I promise I won't leave.." "Thank you.."
