Pre-Date

𖦹

It's the next day and we cut to Chase pacing his pup house in anticipation. Today was Rocky and his date at the beach and Chase didn't know what to wear.

Marshall, who was watching his best friend panic, could only sigh at Chase's attempt to pick an outfit.

"Chase, just wear something casual. It's the beach."

Chase had a dumbfounded expression on his face as he looked at Marshall.

"You waited twenty minutes to tell me that."

"I like watching you suffer," Marshall laughed.

Chase groaned and looked through his closet for something casual, but the only casual thing he had was a collar. The collar was navy blue with some gold accents, it was a gift from Ryders parents so he held it dear to him. Chase hesitantly decided to wear it.

"How do I look?" Chase turned to face his best friend.

Marshall's jaw wanted to drop at the sight of his best friend. Chase always wears clothes so no one really knew what he looked like without any. Marshall never knew that his best friend looked like this.

"Rocky will like it," Marshall hid his blush from Chase. If he didn't already like someone else, Marshall would of gladly asked Chase out ages ago.

"Good, good..." The German Shepherd trailed off into thought.

His was interrupted by a knock on the door.

Chase opened the door, excited to see Rocky, but instead it was Skye. She stood there in shock looking up at a bare chested German Shepherd. She had never seen Chase without his uniform on, no one has, not even Marshall and the two of them are basically brothers.

"C-Chase! I-uh..." Skye had to take a moment before continuing, she didn't want to pass out in looking at the German Shepherd in front of her.

"I wanted to know if you want to join the others and I? We're playing tag and I volunteered to get Rocky and You."

"Oh! Well thank you for the invitation but I already have plans for the day. Rocky and I are spending the day down at the beach!" he felt himself smile at the mention of the Mixed Breed.

"Oh, well then, I'll see you later then?" Chase nodded and closed the door, leaving the aviation pup staring at the blue door of the pup house.

Chase looked over at his best friend who was laying in on the pillows the police pup used as a bed. The pup in question was trying to hold back his laughter.

"She's gone, go ahead and laugh." Marshall let everything out. Rolling around and laughing to the point he could barely breathe.

"The look on your face when you saw Skye instead of Rocky is the highlight of the week!"

"I hate you, soooo much, " Chase groaned as Marshall's laughter calmed down.

"Instead of just standing there listening to my barking, why don't you go find him?"

Chase's eyes widen at the suggestion and his tail started wagging.

"Marshall, that's a great idea!" He nuzzled his best friend as a way of saying thank you, before rushing to the Lookout. Marshall stood there in shock, Chase nuzzled him. It was a friendly gesture of course, but, Marshall couldn't help but feel giddy inside. He felt worthy of Chase's friendship.

...

Chase reached Rocky's pup house and eagerly knocked at the door. Rocky opened the door already knowing who would be there, but what he didn't expect was what said dog would be wearing, nothing but a collar.

Now Rocky knew that he didn't like Chase as anything more that a friend but at that point in time Rocky began considering otherwise, he felt his face flush red as he stared at Chase's bare chest.

"Hey Rocky! Are you ready?" Chase admired Rocky as he stuttered out an answer to the question he asked.

"Y-yeah I'm ready." Rocky felt so embarrassed, he was making a complete fool of himself. He's never felt these type of feelings before but he knows that he doesn't deserve it. He doesn't deserve Chase's love. So in that moment, as Rocky closed the door of his pup house and walked beside Chase, Rocky decided he wouldn't try to pursue love from Chase.

But as he looked up in Chase's eyes he realized just how hard that might be.
