 Beam POV

I remember when I was little, my grandfather once asked me, when I was an adult, what would I want to be?  Without hesitation I answered "I want to be like Pho".  At that time, I thought how cool it was to wear a uniform, root out crime, and hold a weapon.  Very naive, at that time I did not know that work as a police officer was more complicated than my dream.  Since I was placed in the Interpol division, I only wear uniforms during official events.  Right now, I don't even know if I'm a good or bad person, and I haven't even held a weapon for almost a year.

"Come in," said Phana's personal assistant, his right hand man, the person Phana believed in the most, Paris.  I stepped into a room that looked like a study and stood behind a desk.  A man stands behind me.

"Good afternoon, sir," I said.  The man turned and smiled kindly at me.

"Are you feeling nervous?"  he asked while sitting in a chair in front of me.

"A little" I answered honestly.  The man in front of me smiled faintly.

"Don't worry," he said to me before he glanced at the man next to me "Can you leave us alone?"  he asked.

I glanced at the man next to him.  Paris looked unhappy but he nodded.  And it doesn't take much effort to know that Paris doesn't like me either.  He looked at me sharply before leaving the room.

 Yup

The list of men who want to get rid of me in the Jamornhum family is getting longer.

"Sit down" Phana's command drew my attention again.  He walked to the sofa in the right corner of this room and pointed to a sofa next to him.  I walked to the sofa and sat down doubtfully.  This is the first time he and I are in a room without Paris.

"Before meeting the others I want to talk to you a few things," Phana said.  I looked at his face that turned serious.

"What do you know so far?"  asked Phana.  I rolled my brain.  The question sounds like a trap.  I tried to sort out the information that I got at this time.  The information I got was only a rumor that developed in the Jamornhum family.  I can't contact Earth.  Too risky.

"Not much. Rumors are developing about Mr. Nate's death and why I am replacing him. I only know that Mr. Oh announced Mr. Nate's death as a suicide." I chose to limit the information I conveyed and saw Phana's reaction.

"And you believe that?"  asked Phana.

I swallowed my saliva.  If I say yes then I will look stupid and if I say no then I will need someone to be made a scapegoat.  Although in my mind there is only one suspect.

"No," I answered after thinking for a while.  However, men like Phana won't be happy if I answer otherwise.

Phana smiled and leaned toward me "And how can you conclude that?"

I tried to look into Phana's eyes who looked eagerly awaiting my answer.

"Well, compared to me, Mr. Nate has no reason to end his life. He has a beautiful wife, two children with a bright future and excellent finances."

Phana continued to stare at me without a flutter, with a faint smile rising on his cheeks.  It's scary but he won't be able to intimidate me.

"Although the southern region is relatively small compared to other regions, looking at the property owned by Mr. Nate at this time, I am sure that his income is more than 10 times what I made at White Dragon."
