Chapter 6
Jake’s POV
“Jake!!! Wake up or you are going to be late for school” I heard my mum shout from downstairs.
“I will be out in a minute mum” Five minutes later my bedroom door opened and my little sister Angie walked in wearing a pink tutu.
“Good morning Jakey” she said rubbing her eyes.
“Good morning beautiful. Come on let’s go get breakfast” I got my school bag and led her out of my room to the kitchen.
“Good morning mum” I said and kissed her cheek.
“Good morning to you to.”
“Angie are you ready we have to go” she called out.
She was running around the kitchen I don’t even know what she was doing. My mum has been like this since my dad died two years ago she puts everything that she has on her work and us. She says it keeps her concentrated.
“Don’t forget to pick your sister from the child care Jake” she said running out of the house
“Bye Jakey” Angie shouted after her. I gave out a small chuckle and got my keys and left for school.
I was already late for homeroom when I got to school. Tom, Drew and Alan were waiting for me at the front door. We have been best friends since fresh man year.
“Men you just missed an awesome show” said drew finding it hard to talk and laugh at the same time.
“What was there another jade cat fight?” I can’t stand that girl. She was so annoying and she keeps telling everyone that I am hers. Creeper much.
“No men Dave just got his a$$ kicked by some chick” tom said taking his phone out to show me the video.
“By who?”
“The new chick Amelia”
I saw the video and all I could say was WOW that girl can kick a$$ I thought.
“That a$$ deserved it come on let’s get to class”
“Hey Jake” said someone while I was taking my sit and turned around to give them a smile. I took my sit and looked for Amelia but she wasn’t there also her friend Haley wasn’t there either.
There was something about her; I wanted to get to know her. She wasn’t like the other girls in this school.
I didn’t realise that I had zoned out until I saw Drew’s hand waving in front of me.
“Hey dude, are you ok?”
“Yeah just thinking”
Half way through class Amelia and Haley were still not there. The class ended and I went to the science class. Amelia and Haley walked in late the teacher gave them an understanding look.
They sat together I turned around and both their eyes were a little red and puffy like they have been crying. I wanted to know what was wrong and why she was crying. Something in me wanted to protect her.
What the hell am I talking about I don’t even know her I thought and pushed the feeling away.
