Chapter 7

“He what” Darren roared as a silver dagger flew toward Jason. He dodged the flying weapon and stared at Darren as he fumed.

“How can she say yes, she is mine” he said as he paced the room.

“What was she thinking? How could she do this to him?”

“Maybe we just need to let them be” Jason said.

“This has made them weaker” he added when Darren glared at him. Darren stopped pacing and faced Jason. A sick smile sliding across his face.

“You’re right Jason, very right indeed. All we need to do is attack while they are celebrating, then everything will be ours” he said as he sat back down in his throne. A slave crawled up to him and offered her blood. He greedily took it making the girl scream in pain before he threw her aside. Jason did nothing, he learned long ago that humans and hunters were useless creatures. Darren stared at him for a moment. Jason took that as his sign to talk.

“When will the first attack be” he asked. Darren chuckled making most of the servants around him flinch in fear. Jason knew he was not laughing from glee or happiness. He was laughing at the pain he knew Lyric and Lucas would feel. Once the laughing had stopped he looked back down at Jason.

“The day of the wedding” he said. Jason’s eyes widened in shock and fear.

“That’s suicide” he said. Darren laughed once more.

“No my dear spy, it’s not suicide. It’s brilliant. Killing most of the warriors before the war even starts” he said.

“Go get Logan and start planning. We have a matter of weeks” he said gleefully. Jason bowed before Darren before turning to find Logan. He walked down the dark halls before someone took him by the arm and pulled him onto a hidden passage way. He was about to fight back when he noticed it was Logan. He could never mistake the vampire for any one, not with those striking purple eyes.

“What” Jason asked. Logan simply stared at him.

“That man has gone crazy” he simply stated. Jason stared in shock as the master’s son said something so dangerous in a place so open.

“What are you thinking? That may be your father but he would still kill you” Jason said. Logan smiled.

“He can’t hear us. He knows nothing of these tunnels” he said confidently. Jason stared at him in shock.

“He is not my father. I found who my real father was and what that thing did to him” Logan growled. Jason flinched back. Logan was powerful and very scary when angered.

“What are you going to do” he asked. Logan smiled.

“Nothing…yet. I will act as if nothing is wrong. I will plan with you. I will lead with you but I will do anything in my power to protect my cousin” Logan said.

 “Cousin” Jason asked. Logan nodded.

“Lyric is my cousin. My father would have been her father’s brother. We have never met and never knew the other existed until I found an old journal in the back of the dungeons. It was my fathers. In it he told me everything. I can’t wait to see her” Logan said a smile gracing his lips. Jason glared.

“You will disobey your master” he asked anger rushing through his blood. Logan nodded.

“In a heartbeat and if you say anything I will make sure your little friend, Dane is it? Yes Dane. He will endure the most painful death of all” Logan said stepping closer to Jason.

 “Am I understood” he asked.

 “Y-ye-yes” Jason stuttered.

“Yes what” Logan asked with a teasing smile on his face. Jason growled.

“Yes sir” he mumbled. Logan laughed as he walked away from the cowering palace guard. Jason watched as Logan walked away.

“What was he going to do?” he wondered. He was so, so screwed.
