Flashback

He woke up right after hearing arguments from outside their house. He swam out seeing his brother with his friend, fighting about something.

"What's wrong here?" He asked. Xiaojun turned his head and without a word he left, leaving his friend there with Jeno alone.

Jeno looked at Xiaojun's friend whose name was given as Yangyang. "What happened?"

"Your father... he disappeared."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know, but he's not here or anywhere. Xiaojun is angry." Yangyang looked around to be aware of their surroundings, then looking back at Jeno, "You have to be careful, everything is going bad these days, and not a few days ago my city was attacked." Yangyang said and tears went down his cheeks.

"My family is moving to the human world. And I think, your father went there too." Yangyang said with his hands weakly grasping both Jeno's shoulders, looking around in fear again. "I'm not supposed to be here, I'll leave now. And if we ever meet in coincidence in the human world, act like we don't know each other." Yangyang brought out a pinky and Jeno's reflexes immediately reacted by making a pinky promise with Yangyang.

"I'll see you when I see you." And that, Yangyang swam away. Jeno was confused, everything was spinning in front of him, he looked around, no one was seen. Everyone is scared of each other, hiding from each other in fear of being attacked, in fear of getting accused and being sent to the dungeons.

"Hyung..." Jeno slowly swam into Xiaojun's room, trying to have a conversation with him.

It was currently midnight and the only source of light they have right now are the glowing stones that only could be found by the deepest part of the sea. The room was dim and the tension seems thick.

"Why did father-"

"Don't ever mention him." Xiaojun straight up said in a stern voice. Not looking back.

"I just wanted to-"

Xiaojun turned around in anger, strucking ice onto Jeno's chest that connected to the wall behind him, keeping him in place. "You were the one who saved that boy, didn't you?"

Jeno felt suffocated, "A-and what if I d-did?"

"This is all your fault! Dad left us because you saved that boy! He sent us there to attack and to take revenge, not saving those people!"

"But they did n-nothing wrong." Jeno stuttered out, trying to melt down the ice slowly without making Xiaojun notice it.

"They trapped you in a cave under a volcano that almost erupted!" Xiaojun swam close. "Look at what you're doing right now. You're melting the ice. You're supposed to be making ice not melting them!" And Xiaojun landed a hard slap onto his right cheek, stopping him from doing anything else.

What did he do to be treated like this? What bad thing that has been done by him to be receiving this treatment? What did he do wrong? What's actually going on and why is his brother, his affectionate, loving and protective brother acting like this?

And right after, Xiaojun started to swim away but then was stopped with Jeno shouting, "What did I ever do wrong!?"

Xiaojun turned around, an angry, hopeless expression he wore. "You're always wrong. If it weren't for me, you could've died in that heating cave." He paused and turned his head around. "I should've left you to die there." And he swims away, not catching a glimpse or anything, leaving Jeno tear up, heartbroken.

sunnyhyuck: hey mark?

mark: yes?

sunnyhyuck: uh chenle told me that you kind of had something related with doyoung?

sunnyhyuck: you know... the black haired tall looking guy at jaemin's bday party

sunnyhyuck: but he's shorter than lucas

sunnyhyuck: so yea chenle wanted me to ask you about it?

sunnyhyuck: what's really going on?

sunnyhyuck: hello?

mark: doyoung?

mark: what are you talking about?

sunnyhyuck: you know..

sunnyhyuck: that guy jeno invited on jaem's birthday cuz he was his friend

sunnyhyuck: chenle noticed you and doyoung keep sending looks to each other that day

sunnyhyuck: and you two left at the same time that day...

mark: um I seriously don't know who is this doyoung guy

mark: like, seriously

sunnyhyuck: yeah but idk, chenle said you two were suspicious

sunnyhyuck: is there anything going on?

sunnyhyuck: I know this has nothing to do with our relationship but this is kinda related to jaemin's kidnapping case

sunnyhyuck: it would be helpful if you tell the truth

mark: I don't know him

mark: I left because my boss from my part time job said someone stole money from where I work and he said I had to get there immediately

sunnyhyuck: why is the money being stolen has something to do with you anyway?

mark: because I work there?

sunnyhyuck: yeah but can't your boss like, call the cops or chase the criminal himself?

sunnyhyuck: you're giving fake excuses.. aren't you?

mark: no im not

mark: im serious

mark: trust me

sunnyhyuck: idk man. Chenle wants to meet.

sunnyhyuck: when are you free?

mark: suddenly?

sunnyhyuck: yea

sunnyhyuck: since we couldn't really believe you, let's meet and talk like adults. –Chenle

sunnyhyuck: that was chenle

mark: I know

mark: fine. I'm free at Monday afternoon

sunnyhyuck: 1pm café in front of c7?

mark: okay

mark: see u there

sunnyhyuck: okay, see you
