"You can't keep on doing this, dude. Do your homework." Shunsuke glared at Takaki as the latter rummaged his bag.
All three of them were in the library. Shunsuke followed Aki while Takaki followed his friend just so he could copy the homework he didn't make at home.
Ignoring the two, Aki just continued reading the book he chose.
"I was busy."
"Busy doing what?"
The other's hands that was about to grab Shunsuke's works froze in the air for a couple of seconds, obviously lost about what to answer. He shot a side glance at his annoyed friend before mumbling, "I'm always busy."
"Tch. Busy sleeping, busy playing games, busy---"
"Oh, come on. Let's cut this crap, dude. You wouldn't be doing your homework if you didn't want to impress someone." He glanced at the boy sitting a bit far from them, still totally not acknowledging their presence.
"That's not true. I'm rethinking my priorities already. Studying is very important." With furrowed brows while staring at his book's pages, anyone might really be convinced he was being so diligent at studying.
"Huh. Rethinking priorities. It's very obvious what your top priority is."
"Fine. Get my homework and just go somewhere else. I need to concentrate here."
"Ppfft!" Takaki burst in a loud chuckle before smacking his friend's head. "Yeah right."
He gathered the latter's set of homework and made his way towards the door. Before finally stepping out though, his peripheral vision caught a very familiar person reading in an isolated corner of the library. The later was also wearing the same school uniform as they do.
Takaki stood there for a moment and watched Raiah. After a while, he decided to approach the other's table.
"What are you doing here?"
Raiah, who was also reading something, didn't even spare him a look. He was not in the mood to argue or anything today. Last night, his brother called to check on the progress of his mission and it was so unsettling for him. He felt so complicated regardless if he denied it or not.
And the very reason of his internal complications was now standing in front of him, trying to provoke him again. Whatever good left in his mood was now flown out of the window.
Mindless of the other's shown indifference, Takaki sat down and leaned forward, "What are you planning to do? Are you seriously going to study in this school?"
The other flipped through the next page, completely ignoring the questions thrown at him.
"You, listen." He tapped the table to get the latter's attention. "Stay away from us. You can't study here. If you want that boy, just take him and get lost. You don't belong here."
Raiah turned another page in the book and answered without looking at him, "I don't remember needing your opinion."
This was enough trigger for the latter's already unfriendly temper. He abruptly stood up again and grappled the other's arm. "What the-!" He instinctively let go the moment he felt how thin and seemingly fragile that arm felt like.
"Let's talk outside."
"Mm? Why should I go with you?" There was a clear, mocking stain in that tone.
"I'll keep on holding you until you do. I don't think you'll like that." And this tone wasn't endearing, it was plain stubborn.
A subtle amused smirk formed on the corner of Raiah's lips before he closed his book and stood up. "Interesting."
