Astoundingly, when Jimin walks into the living room, he sees his father sitting on one of the couches, reading a book with a steaming mug of coffee in his hand.

Jimin frowns, that's weird. His father isn't home until night and if, on any odd day he is, he's usually in his workroom. So this is definitely a surprise.

Regardless, Jimin walks up to him and takes a seat next to him. "Hi, dad," he greets with a smile, taking his schoolbag off his shoulder. "Nice to see you home early," he adds.

His dad takes his eyes off his book for a second to regard him with a barely there smile. He hums, "Good to see you too, Jimin. How was your day?," he asks, taking a sip of his coffee.

Jimin sighs, thinking about the events of his day at school. It wasn't the best, but he chooses not to vocalize that fact. "It was good. How was yours?"

"It was alright. I had a press conference to attend earlier today, I just got back an hour ago. Oh and tonight my friend Daehyun's daughter is getting married, so be ready to go by 7," his dad tells him, looking at him pointedly.

Jimin resists the urge to groan. He really doesn't wanna go. But when it comes to accompanying his parents to events such as this one, he doesn't really have much of a choice.

His father is a very notable and well-known politician. Being his only son, Jimin has a lot of responsibilities and expectations tied to his name. He's not opposed to all the attention and eyes on him at all times, he just wishes he could catch a little break once in a while.

Jimin nods. "Right," he replies. He fidgets with his fingers for a moment before he reminds himself about what he actually came to his dad for. "Actually, I wanted your um- advice about something."

"Go ahead," his dad says, turning over a page.

"Say, there's this person I really, really, really like. And I'm not completely sure if they fully like me back the way I like them. But I've already invested way to much time, effort and money into them. Then, it turns out that they actually like someone else, m-more than me maybe. But this person they like is someone I've known for almost all my life. And they now seem like they might actually have a thing going on. So now what do I do?," Jimin asks, all in one breath and looks at his dad expectantly.

His dad sighs and puts down his book. He pinches the bridge of his nose for a moment before looking at Jimin. "You know I don't like talking in hypotheticals, Jimin," he says.

Jimin rolls his eyes and huffs out a sigh. "I know, I know. There's this boy from school, his name is Yoongi. I-"

"A boy?," his dad inquires with a raised eyebrow, his eyes sharp as they look at Jimin.

Slowly, Jimin nods.

His dad looks at him for a moment, Jimin holds his breath. He nods. "Okay."

Jimin heaves out a relieved sigh. "I really like him. But he just told me today that he likes Taehyung. And I'm pretty sure Taehyung is interested in him too. But I'm not ready to let Yoongi go," he explains.

Not yet, not this easily.

His dad makes a pensive sound. "Kim Taehyung? Kim Jinwoo's son, huh?"

Jimin nods. "Yeah."

"So this boy you like likes him instead of you?"

Jimin nods again.

His dad shrugs, picking up his book again. "Then make him not like him," he says simply.

Jimin tilts his head in thought. "How do I do that?," he asks.

"You might not know this boy well. But you know Taehyung. Right?," his dad says, patting Jimin's shoulder before he gets up to leave.

Jimin sighs, throwing himself back on the couch and gazing up at the opulent chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

Not the kinda advice he had expected, but not completely useless either. His father had just assumed that Jimin knows Taehyung really well. What he doesn't know, is that whenever Taehyung is talking, Jimin is zoned out 99.9% of the time.

Make him not like him.

Sounds easy enough.

The next day, at lunch, Jimin watches Taehyung and Yoongi from afar for a moment before he picks up his lunch tray and walks over to them.

"Hey, guys. How are you two today?," Jimin asks, putting his tray down, but he keeps the bottle of water in his hand.

Yoongi regards him with a little wave as usual before he goes back to eating that same old repulsive salad he always eats at lunch. Jimin will pray for his taste buds for sure.

Taehyung smiles at him. "Hi, Jimin. Would you like to join us?," he asks, pointing at the seat next to his.

Jimin grins and uncaps the water bottle. "Oh, sure," he answers. He tips up the water bottle to his mouth, but accidentally spills almost half of the water on Taehyung's shirt.

"Oh my gosh," Jimin gasps, eyes wide. "I am so sorry," he says, putting the bottle on the table and mustering up the most apologetic expression he can.

Where is his fucking Oscar?

Taehyung hisses and stands up. "It's fine. I'll try to sort this out, be right back," he mutters and leaves the table, presumably going to the bathroom.

Jimin tries his best not to grin in victory as he takes a seat across Yoongi at the table. Yoongi looks at him for a moment before resuming to eat.

"How have you been?," Jimin asks with a smile, propping up his elbows on the table.

Yoongi shrugs. "Fine," he answers.

Taehyung will probably be back soon, so Jimin decides to lean across the table and start doing what he came to do.

"Listen, Yoongi," he says seriously, making Yoongi look at him. "We're friends right?," he asks, grimacing a bit. That word tastes so wrong in his mouth.

Yoongi looks at him for a moment before he nods a bit.

"So, as your friend, I think it's best if you hear this," Jimin says, keeping his voice earnest so Yoongi knows he's not playing around.

Even if that's exactly what he's doing, but that's besides the point.

"Taehyung," Jimin begins, "He's not what he seems," Jimin whispers conspiratorially.

Yoongi frowns in confusion.

"He hates flowers," Jimin says with a sad sigh, burying his face in his hands as if he just announced someone's death.

He hears Yoongi gasp and smiles inwardly.

Jimin nods solemnly. "It's- It's true," he says, watching Yoongi shake his head in discontent. "He despises flowers," Jimin says and tries to kick it up a notch. "He even eats them. Daily."

Yoongi brings his hand up to his mouth and his eyes widen in disbelief.

"He hates fishies too, he can't stand them," Jimin tells Yoongi, keeping his expression somber. "I saw him kill two right in front of my eyes," he adds, just for the hell of it.

Seriously, where the hell is his damn Oscar?

Yoongi gasps again and pushes away his food, though Jimin thinks that salad is more disgusting than anything he could ever tell Yoongi.

"I know all this is very hard to hear. I wouldn't wanna be friends with him after hearing this either and-"

Jimin pauses when he sees Yoongi perk up with a smile and wave at someone behind him.

Jimin turns around to see Taehyung return to the table and take a seat beside him.

"Sorry about that," Taehyung says with a smile that makes Yoongi smile wider. "So what were we talking about?"

Taehyung starts talking again about some movie, but it all falls deaf on Jimin's ears who's sat there fuming as he watches the two converse happily.

Trying to deter Yoongi didn't work.

Maybe going for Taehyung next just might.
