Clay and Macy zoomed through the wood in their battle suits, clanking all the way. They got to a dark section and stopped.
“Hey Clay, have you got a feeling someone's watching us, or is it just me being paranoid?” Asked Macy.
“Yeah, I do-” he stopped mid sentence and looked in front. “Can you see that?” He whispered to Macy, who nodded. A pair of bright white eyes were visible through the trees. Then another pair appeared. Then another. And another. Soon they were surrounded by glowing eyes, and they seemed to be... whispering?
“Get the master...get the master...the master…”
“Master?” Macy whispered in fear. Then another pair of eyes appeared. However, these were different; they were smaller, and bright green. The eyes came closer, to reveal a hooded figure, taller than them both.
“Who are you, and what do you want?” The figure whispered.
“I am Clay Moorington, and we are here to find someone.” Clay said. The figure froze.
“Clay?” The figure stepped forward, and by the light of the surrounding eyes, Clay saw a bow and a quiver of arrows slung over their shoulder.
“Yes.”
“It's...really you? After all this time?” The figure was no longer whispering, but speaking normally. In a girl's voice. However, their voice was rather quiet. They took another step forward, then lowered their hood, to reveal a girl, eyes no longer glowing, with brown hair, exactly the same shade as Clay's, tied up in a bun.
“Are you... Phoebe?” Clay asked. The girl nodded, joy in her eyes.
“You remember!” She squealed, jumping up and down. She had a rather British accent. Clay clambered out of his battle suit and down to his long lost sister. Macy also jumped out of her battle suit, but backed away, wanting to give the two some room.
“I...I can't believe it!” Exclaimed Clay, “You... you're my sister. I didn't even know I had one until this morning.”
“Who told you?” Asked Phoebe.
“Merlok.”
“Uncle Merlok?”
“That's the one.”
“Oh, this is brilliant. How is he? And-” she gasped at the sight of Clay's orange arm, the one containing all his power, “you've got your power?”
“Yeah.” Clay looked around at the glowing eyes, which were still there. “And, er, who do the eyes belong to?”
“Oh, my animals.” Phoebe was positively quivering with happiness.
“Animals?”
“Yeah. I've got loads.” And all of a sudden, animals were popping up from all directions. One accidentally startled Macy, causing her to let out a short scream, before she covered her mouth and attempted to blend in with the background, but with no such luck. Phoebe looked around at the noise, then said,
“You brought company?”
“Yes, this is princess Macy Halbert.” Said Clay, walking over to his friend and dragging her into the light.
“Princess?” Phoebe's eyes went wide.
“Er, yes, but I don't go by princess, I don't like it, so just call me Macy.” Said Macy, extending a hand.
“And you're a friend of Clay's?” Asked Phoebe, shaking her hand.
“And fellow knight, yes.”
“Then you're a friend of mine.” Phoebe smiled, and Macy smiled back. She could tell they are going to be good friends.
“Anyway, Merlok wanted us to take you to the Fortrex because he wants to see you.” Said Clay.
“He does?”
“Yeah.”
“Awesome! But I can't leave for long, I have animals to tend to.” Said Phoebe.
“That's fine, Merlok will be delighted!” Clay exclaimed, and Phoebe laughed.
“But how are we going to get you there? There isn't any room in the battle suits.” Macy pointed out, but Phoebe waved it away.
“I've got my own way of getting around.” And a pitch-black horse came galloping up beside her. She climbed on with some grace and exclaimed, “Horseback!”
“That's travel sorted then.” Said Clay, helping Macy into her battle suit, before getting into his own. “Are we ready?”
“Yeah.” Said Macy and Phoebe in unison, and they set off, Macy and Clay clanking along, Phoebe galloping.
