A dark wooden carriage drawn by white horses clad in gold accented leather rolled down the cobble pathway that sprawled all throughout the vast kingdom of Alveras. The royal symbol; a Gothic "P" painted in deep divine purple with doves painted behind it representing the family's divine animal; decorated the sides of the carriage, alerting all who sees that someone of high importance was in town.
The carriage stopped on the side of the road near the produce area of the large marketplace that resided in the heart of the Kingdom, all nearby eyes drawn to it along with a low hum of anticipation.
Those of the royal family do not often travel outside of their large palace, as there usually is no need to since everything they could ever want can be brought to them. That is the case for most of the family, except for one particular royal who despite being dressed in a tunic made of the finest silks and shoes that are polished at least twice a day, viewed himself as no different from any other commoner of the Kingdom.
He ventured into town as often as he liked, which was just about every day. It was no surprise that he was greeted with happy gasps and squeals of approval as he stepped down from the carriage; as he was the most beloved of the Kingdom.
Maybe even slightly more beloved than the King himself.
"Oh my, it's Prince Jinyoung!" he heard a woman somewhere announce, only drawing more eyes to the Kingdom's friendliest member of the royal family.
He walked with impeccable posture, steady steps, and a gentle smile on his nearly flawless face-- and even the few moles he had was adored by all. He was completely aware of the impact he had on those around him considering his status; therefore he always tried to lead by example and showed only the best side of himself to the public. It wasn't very exhausting either, since the version of himself he showed to his Kingdom was genuinely who he was.
Among the children he's become known as the Cotton Prince-- soft and gentle, but strong when need be.
He was in town on this day for not much, mostly to enjoy the nice weather and run light errands. Of course he had people whose job it was to do that for him, but he disliked staying inside his large empty room all day when there were people to meet and talk to all around.
His eyes were set on a pile of potatoes in a wagon that a woman was standing beside, already pulling out a sack of coins from his satchel strapped across his torso. He heard the woman gasp as he approached her wagon, taking a few moments to quietly inspect the freshly picked batch.
He glanced up at the woman, his warm eyes meeting hers. He widened the smile on his lips. "G'day madame, this is a lovely batch you have."
The owner of the potatoes quickly smiled back, her cheeks dusted a soft pink as she spoke. "W-Why yes, I just picked them this morning! Fresh and ripe!"
Jinyoung hummed, already finding a few promising ones out of the bunch. "May I please purchase a few potatoes?"
The woman vigorously nodded, pulling out a cloth bag to fill with the vegetable. "Oh of course, take as many as you want! No need to pay!"
"It would be wrong of me not to give back to a hard working farmer like you." Jinyoung replied, watching as she filled the bag to the brim with plump potatoes. He smiled as he was handed the bag, in exchange giving the woman a few gold coins out of his sack. "Thank you so much."
"N-No, thank you!"
The prince waved at the woman who couldn't stop herself from smiling ear to ear as he walked further down the road. He was quite familiar with the area since he visited it the most; many of his friends he met in nursery as a child lived around there. He was lucky his parents didn't totally isolate him when he was young, though they do still try to keep him on a tight leash, even as the young adult he was now.
