Bonnie woke up confused. Before she opened her eyes she knew she wasn't home, the couch was far too comfortable and not to mention the small body laying on top of her.
Looking down she saw little Hope Mikaelson, curled into her stomach, the girls hand fisted in her shirt and her own hand in the girls hair. To say she was surprised was an understatement. She knew that her and the girl would grow close but not so soon. Yet she couldn't help but adore her already.
"Hard not to fall in love with her isn't it?" She hears. Turning she sees Klaus at the door, hands clasped behind his back and a smirk adorning his face.
"Yea" Bonnie agrees, keeping her voice low, before she raises an eyebrow at him. "How the hell did she come from you?"
"I'll let you know when I figure it out" he says with a smirk in her direction. Walking closer to them he picks the child up into his arms and walks out with her, presumably to take her to bed.
Bonnie sits up leaning back for a moment before realizing her shoes were no longer on her feet. Knitting her eyebrows together she stares at them, wondering how the hell they got off her feet.
Shaking her head she looks at her phone, which was flashing beside her. Grabbing it she looked at the messages. 2 from Alicia, 3 from Lucy and 1 from Elena. She knit her eyebrows at the message from Elena, the doppelgänger turned vampire hadn't tried to contact her since she left. Sighing she opened the ones from Alicia first.
Don't forget I'm meeting my tutor tonight, so I won't be home for dinner
-Ally🥰And Bon can u plz text Jones he's been pouting all day😂
-Ally🥰Chuckling lightly Bonnie quickly text her back. A flutter in her stomach at the thought of Jack Jones being pouty over her.
Let us know when u get there and I'll call when I get home, promise
Next she opened Lucy's.
Don't forget girls night
-Luce❤️I will drag u there by ur hair
-Luce❤️Bring cake
-Luce❤️Bonnie laughed as she read the messages, knowing the taller Bennett would have her way. Shaking her head she replied with a simple 'ok Lucy'. Sighing she opened Elena's next.
It made her sad that she felt such trepidation, in only opening a text message, from a girl she once told everything to.
Hey Bonnie, can we talk
-ElenaWe miss you
-ElenaShe felt her gut twist and her heart clench at the message. It wasn't like she didn't miss them, she missed them every day. She has grown up with them after all. Unfortunately she didn't miss them as much as she thought she should.
"You know when you are deep in thought you get a crease right here" she hears and looks up to see Klaus standing over her, gently pointing to a spot between her eyebrows. It was a testament to how deep in thought she was that she hadn't heard nor felt him enter the room.
"I suppose you would know" she says sending a smirk his way. He remembered all those times she was deep in thought, plotting ways to kill him. She very nearly succeeded, more than once. He hated that look before, now he found it endearing.
"Freya has invited you to stay for dinner, as she put it she's in desperate need for a friend who doesn't have psychotic tendencies" he says smirking as he recalls his older sisters rant on how she needed a semblance of normalcy.
"You mean she's tired of homicidal psychos?" Bonnie asks widening her eyes in mock surprise. "Who would've thought"
"Is that a yes or a no?" He asks instead of responding to the insult. Though he couldn't help the smirk that played on his lips, she always did have a wicked tongue.
"I can't stay for dinner, I have girls night" Bonnie says raising her phone as if he could see her massages. "But maybe she'd like to come with us" Bonnie says and he nods.
"She'd love to" they hear and turn to see Freya at the door. Smiling Bonnie nods at her, actually glad for the other witch's company. Lucy has a tendency to flirt, a lot.
"That's great, you can meet Lucy" Bonnie says happily as she stands. Klaus raises an eyebrow at them. It seemed there would be more than just Hope to keep Bonnie around, well that just worked in his favor.
"Sounds lovely, I'll just go change" Freya says with a smile. As she left Bonnie looked at Klaus warily. He was wearing a very satisfied smile on his face and she didn't feel comforted by that.
"What are you thinking?" Bonnie asked making him smirk down at her playfully.
"Nothing nefarious, I assure you" he tells the small witch. The comment makes her roll her eyes. Yea, like she'd believe that.
"Am I really supposed to believe that?" She asked crossing her arms over her chest. Klaus shrugs lightly at her, knowing that she'd believe what she wanted regardless.
"You're a stubborn woman, it doesn't matter what I say" he says making her raise her brow at him.
"Whatever, is there a bathroom I can fix myself in?" Bonnie asked making Klaus nod. He didn't think she needed any fixing up, she looked beautiful. If he would've known this was who she'd become once she left her 'friends' he would've tried to take her away long ago. He has her now though, he can deal with that.
"Yes of course" he says as he puts a hand on the small of her back, leading her to a bathroom. She nodded at him before she went inside.
As Bonnie fixed her hair she sighed. She wasn't entirely sure what to do in this situation. It seemed the more time she spent with the Mikaelsons the more she felt comfortable around them. She just had to keep reminding herself that Hope was why she was here, Hope is the one she's taking care of.
Though now it seemed Freya wanted to be friends. Then again Freya wasn't a vampire, she was a witch. She also never tried to kill her and vice versa. Putting another coat of gloss on her lips Bonnie exited the bathroom, running into Elijah.
"Miss Bennett, I see you've woken up" Elijah says making Bonnie frown. Looks like everyone knew she fell asleep here. She couldn't help but hope she didn't snore.
"Yea me and Hope were talking and it just happened" Bonnie says putting her hands in her pockets. A nervous habit. Elijah raised an eyebrow at her.
"Do you make it a habit of falling asleep on vampire territory?" He asks. Bonnie shrugs thinking of all the times she'd fallen asleep on Damon's bed in the prison world or the couch of the boarding house.
"Well it's not exactly like I've been keeping up with my habits since I've been here" Bonnie says making Elijah nod. When he looked back at Bonnie his eyes were softer.
"How have you been feeling Miss Bennett?" He asks making Bonnie sigh. They'd talked about this before. How she should be opening up to him if he was going to help her through this.
"I'm still not sleeping very well but I managed to not jump once on the walk over here" She tells him, trying to give him a reassuring smile. He raises an eyebrow at her.
