Car Ride

FAST FORWARD 8 YEARS

"babe!" yelled Mattia from upstairs, I was getting our daughter lily dressed cause we were going to visit Matias mother, we've been pretty distant after having the baby.

"what babe!?" I yelled back, "we're gonna be late let's go!!" he yelled back in a annoyed voice, "be patient I want lily looking adorable!!" I yelled back with a smile.

"who's mommies pretty girl?" I asked tickling her belly, she let out loud giggles and said "me mommy" in her adorable voice. I sat her up on the changing table and just looked at her, I made this human and it was so crazy to think about.

My deep thoughts of lily were interrupted by Mattia yelling at me to hurry up "were coming babe chill!!" I yelled picking up lily and running downstairs.

"got the bags babe?" I asked putting lily's shoes on her feet, "yep I got your purse, wallet, lily's bag and her toys" he said putting on his shoes "and her milk?" I asked standing up "yes babe" he said, "good, thank you baby" I said giving Mattia a kiss, "ewww" said lily covering her eyes.

"oh shush you, c'mon let's go in the car!" I said excited "yayy" lily said pulling me by my hand to the car, "we're gonna go see your Nonna?" I asked lily as I put her in her car seat "yes mama" she said with a big smile, i returned the smile, gave her the toys, kissed her head and closed the back door.

I went in the passenger seat waiting for Mattia to come out, he went to the restroom so i wasn't mad with waiting a bit. After 2 minutes he comes outside with his hands full of bags, he locks the door and even turns the knob and push's a few times to make sure it was locked.

He walked over to the car with a little grin on his face, he knocked on the window and mouthed 'open the trunk' so I double pressed the trunk button on the keys. he placed all the bags into the trunk, closed it and popped into the driver side.

"all good?" I asked him as he puts on his seatbelt, "yep!" he said with a smile as he turns on the car, "hey lily, want something to eat?" he asks her as he backs out the driveway "mm yea, can I get fries from McDonalds?" she asks with a big of hope in her voice cause sometimes we say no cause she doesn't listen, "hmm.. you were good this morning so yes" he says to her and we start driving...
